Re: The Engine Crackers (4)

It amazes me that after several years of NN engine play we still have people posting example blitz games and intimating that the game posted is some how “proof” of the superiority of one engine, or engine type, over another or making other similarly ludicrous claims. Walter's "claim" was simply, th...

Re: Stockfish NN release (NNUE)

Yes. BrainLearn=search with the learning system and the rest Stockfish StockfishNNUE=eval NN and the rest Stockfish So, we can surely think about a BrainLearn NNUE = search with the learning system + eval NN + the rest Stockfish Sounds great. Guess Pleonati at discord is working on something simili...

Re: The Engine Crackers (4)

Thanks for showing those games, Walter, but maybe you should have started some more of them from 8.Bg5 as a thematic tournament of it's own, as you proposed already too, not only 2 times accidentially chosen by two engines. And maybe you should have let LC0 play the white side without e4 now and th...

Re: The Engine Crackers (4)

Unfortunately, your scenario is completely different from the one we're discussing here. Because you started discussing the new scenario, "find an engine to win against SF without e4", didn't you? First of all, here is my original match game with the following basic conditions: Ryzen7-16Threads / T...

Re: Puzzle of day 07/17/2020.

I got it by myself in less than a minute! I checked later with Schooner given solution just to be sure. It does not look difficult but I am pleased of being able of solve it. This happens to me all the time at such positions: if I find them and being told that they are problems, I might solve them....

Re: The Engine Crackers (4)

, then a sinlge won game of an AB-engine against LC0 would be enough to prove you wrong, wouldn't it? But the task here is quite different, in fact it is: Find an AB engine that can win this position against Stockfish 240620 without 8.e4! Well, dear Walter, than have a look at this one game between...

Re: The Engine Crackers (4)

Find out by playing a theme engine tournament with this position... ;-) That would be unfair with my weak hardware LC0- respective :) And then if you say AB engines have no chance here in a regular game... , then a sinlge won game of an AB-engine against LC0 would be enough to prove you wrong, woul...

Re: The Engine Crackers (4)

AB engines have no chance here in a regular game... This is a nice example of how important the new NN programs are for the development of the opening theory. You mean AB engines don't have a chance to find e4, but e.g. komodo with raised King Safety (150 instead of 75) and raised Dynamism (200 ins...
