Re: Test Position

1. ..f5 and zugzwang. Here we have a position which is not a study but from a real game. Contrary to common opinion such positions are not rare. As most strong programs rely heavily on null move pruning they will take a long time to find f5. Perhaps they will never find it. Typical behavior: Enter ...

Re: Test Position

Well, Togas there are many :) In most of them, history pruning can be switched off, which mostly doesn't lower speed so much. Extremely configurable (therefore the name, I guess) is a version of Cylone 4.4, called Cyclone xTreme, there was no success within a quarter of an hour as for my Quad with d...

Re: New commercial engine soon: Onno

Hi Peter, ... as for the more recent Mark Knopfler tune...i'm not familiar with it, but remember very well the top albums of the 80s that Dire Staits produced, and Mark's crystal clear powerful ringing guitar riffs. ... Re: New commercial engine soon: Onno

:)
By the way, how did you come to Crimson as for your engine formerly known as Alderon?
:)
Who is this Crimson and has he anything in common with the one we know together with clover or the one that Mark Knopfler would kill to get him? ("Kill to get Crimson" his latest CD as far as I know)

Honored Mr. Diepeveen, dear Vincent!

Am I allowed to thank you very much considering me a substitute for all these poor little users out there?
Your posting is very informative and clear even to an amateur in computing like me.

Re: Avoid Move

Hi Peter, I haven't touched the thing for nearly 2 years now and it's unlikely that will change. There is a whole new generation of programmers and they are much more qualified for the job, the circle of life (even in CC) is something nobody escapes from and should be respected. As you can see I li...
