Hi!

yes:
R3, Fritz 5.32, 10, for 11 only by nullmove off, otherwise no

no:
Naum4, Robbolite
Once again I see Robbo more like Naum then like Rybka.

Re: I'm in doubt if RobboLito is a clone

The only question is, "is this a result of going from C thru a compiler thru an optimizer thru a disassembler to some sort of reverse-compiling process, or is it a result of intentionally trying to make the code difficult to read?" How was that with Occam's razor? :) But didn't that last time bring...

Of course not. Principles never can be disproved in principle. Matter is always, when they apply.

Wilhem von Ockham, quoting this sentence, rather going back to Aristoteles maybe, as far as I know, didn't support the theory fully himself, as for a theistic view he had too.

Re: I'm in doubt if RobboLito is a clone

Anything is possible. Probability is a different issue. To do that much work to make the thing look as it looks would imply some justification for doing this. What would this be??? What gain to they recoup for the effort expended? If one had Rybka's code (2, 3 or 4) but would want to pretend he had...

Re: I'm in doubt if RobboLito is a clone

b) Publish the source for free. Only if you honestly opt for b) the initial assumption can be true. If the initial assumption is false you will only have to ponder which strong program it was that has been re-engineered. You didn't quite get my point. I meant what about having the source code of a ...

Re: I'm in doubt if RobboLito is a clone

That is simply bogus reasoning. Someone releases the source, so that others can see what is being done, but they remove the comments to make it harder? That won't pass any sort of "reasonableness" test. I looked at the code when it first came out. It was pretty clear how it was derived initially, b...

Re: Test Position

I could not find an obvious Zugzwang in the position from the Stockfish game that could have caused the problems for some programs. I took some positions along the PV after f5, changed the side to move so White could have "passed" but the Black pieces still win easily. Hi Eelco! That's what I did, ...
