For an interested Chess player, that has already asked in vain around 15 times in the CCCC chat, where is the PGN of all the stage 1 games?
Indeed, https://newman.chess.com/games.pgn which previously gave the Stage 1 PGN,

now only gives current Stage 2 PGN.

Ethereal: suboptimal moves in won endgame

This is a follow-up of my previous thread concerning the CCCC game #450, Nemorino-Ethereal http://talkchess.com/forum3/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=68438 I am always appalled when I see a good program, here Ethereal, play a sequence of "stupid" (or very suboptimal) moves. This was the case in an easily won e...

The Changing of the Guard. Robert retired just before Lc0 came along, like they were never meant to meet each other.
Come on, Bob is still a Moderator of this Forum, as far as I know, so why couldn't he give us his opinion ?

To CCCC administrators : strange games at CCCC

Just watched game 450 : Nemorino-Ethereal (I am interested to see if Ethereal will make the cut, I hope so...) Well, around move 70, Ethereal has an easy endgame win and starts playing random, repetitious moves ! And suddenly, the game stops, and a new Nemorino-Ethereal game starts from the beginnin...

Yeah, I don't see any big error in the endgame. Black is just lost.
--Jon
Hi Jon,

Indeed, Black is lost, but why does Arasan choose such a short death ? 8-)

(especially after resisting so well to the previous long series of Lc0's aimless moves...)

Re: CCCC Lc0-Arasan : strange endgame

Arasan probably saw a forced mate with or without giving up both his rooks. The win for Lc0 is smooth, avoiding desperado rook tricks for a stalemate. Hi Mike, For Arasan, you may be right, I will ask Jon... But I disagree when you say "the win for Lc0 is smooth", for about 40 moves Lc0 has no idea...

CCCC Lc0-Arasan : strange endgame

Lc0 is unable to win the obvious endgame, and suddenly (Black moves 144 and 145) Arasan stops fighting, and surrenders its 2 rooks !... [Event "CCCC 1: Rapid Rumble (15|5) Stage 1"] [Site "Chess.com"] [Date "2018.09.06"] [Round "?"] [White "Lc0 17.11089"] [Black "Arasan CCCC-2018"] [Result "...
