Re: Exist a posibility to play against MK V (1981 computerworldchampion) on PC?

The goal should be that Mark V is able to play 13.Kh1 or 13.Rae1 in game 2. Please make it real that Mark V plays 13.Kh1 or Rae1. Hmm? What a strange idea to think that I could (or would) change anything in the emulator so that the Mark V would make exactly the move that YOU prefer in a special pos...

Re: Exist a posibility to play against MK V (1981 computerworldchampion) on PC?

I try it again, because it is important for me. Any chance to get a Mark V with much more MHz? Well, a bit more would be possible, but not much more. I've tried it and it works with 4 and 6 MHz (instead of the original 2 MHz), but with 8 MHz (or more) the LCD screen doesn't work correctly anymore.

Re: Exist a posibility to play against MK V (1981 computerworldchampion) on PC?

I looked through my old links and was pleased to find that Alain's User Manuals page is still around too, and seems to be quite active in updating the list of computers covered: http://www.zanchetta.net/ under "Chess Computers" > "Documentations". Yes, that's a great website, and for using these ol...

Re: Exist a posibility to play against MK V (1981 computerworldchampion) on PC?

Re: Exist a posibility to play against MK V (1981 computerworldchampion) on PC?

Hi, you can use more than 250 old chess computer programs (also MK V) with CB-Emu_Pro from my website: https://fhub.jimdofree.com/ It also includes a special version 'MessChess' which allows to run all those programs in any chess GUI which supports the WB or UCI protocol (e.g. WinBoard, Arena, Hiarc...

When I tried to install the software, I got the two following system error messages.

VCRUNTIME140.dll was not found
MSVCP140.dll was not found

Any help would be really appreciated.
Both files are included in the ZIP package of BanksiaGUI (Windows version).

Re: stockfish 10 vs. Mephisto III S Glasgow

Just an fyi, you can download a lot of the Mephisto engines as uci if you wanted to run them on the same hardware to compare. http://rebel13.nl/index.html Or you could also download my CB-Emu program, which emulates more than 200 chess computers (not only Mephisto, but also Fidelity, Novag, Saitek ...

Re: Sting SF 17

While I have a hex editor on my system (who knows why?), I do not know how to use it. So, unless there is a quick method, and not a tutorial, I feel many will be lost and out of luck. Like myself. Ok, here's the patched Sting 17 package: https://www67.zippyshare.com/v/hmdNuRVr/file.html I've replac...

Re: Sting SF 17

BTW. "<>" It is not my bug! Well, I would say it is indeed your bug! ;) The problem is, that ChessBase creates a file *.eng with the name of the engine, and the characters <> are not allowed in filenames, because they are used for input/output redirection in the OS. So it's not a good idea to use t...
