Re: Arena schemes

My favorite scheme is lions, followed by the redskins.

But i think that the lions scheme would look a bit better with a marmorlook of the bordcolours.

Great work.8-)

i hope we can participate of your fine work.

Greetings.

Re: I am still dreaming of a program with positional knowled

Thx for wasting my time with this coffehouseanalysis.

No human would the black position handle like this.

2...b4?? is a stupid computermove.

After the normal 2...Bg7 black is ok.

Re: I am still dreaming of a program with positional knowled

As a clubplayer i trust a topgrandmaster and his judgement in an nontactical position like this much more as the evaluation of a modern chessprogram. Svidler said that blacks position is too passive after he missed 10...g6(!). And for a human it is logical that a bishop g7 on a free diagonal a1-h8 i...

My favorite position of the FIDE World Cup.

[D]r4rk1/2q3b1/4p1pp/npP1Pp2/5P1B/8/bNQ3PP/3RRBK1 w - - 0 29 This Is from a tiebreakgame (rapidchess) of round 3. I prefer the move 29.Rd6!? with the idear to answer 29...Nb7 with 30.Bf2!! I think the rook on d6 is poisened because two connected freepawns are the death of blacks position. So i want ...

Re: I am still dreaming of a program with positional knowled

Hi Don. It`s for shure best move in this position. I have two valid opinons. First GM Svidler, who thought in this position over 30 minutes and was very angry after the game not to play 10...g6 ! Second, topranked chessprogram Houdini 1.5a gave the white position, after 10...g6 !, in an analysis ove...

I am still dreaming of a program with positional knowledge.

As we can see in the games of the human worldcup 2011 chess of humans are still more interesting as chess of computers. This is the result of the still existing lack of positional knowledge in chessprograms. Look at this: [D]r2qkb1r/1b1n1ppp/p2ppn2/1p6/3NPP2/2NBBQ2/PPP3PP/R4RK1 b kq - 0 10 n the pre...

Re: Some games from a new beta engine.

Its a free engine thats been released before, it will be out in a month. Cant say anymore. Its main purpose is not strength but to play aggressively with a human style. But still evaluate positions correctly with sound attacks. Unlike other engines who are aggresive that hit & miss. Will it be publ...
