Re: MYG

Here is one game, I will post the same game with reverted colors when finished. 1 Core, 4.4GHz i2500K, LOOONG time control with PONDER ON (of course), no book, 4pc Syzygy. I stopped the game when it was really finished. 18.h4 is nice. [Event "40 Moves in 120 min; 20 Moves in 60 min; Rest in 60 min"]...

Re: MYG

it already starts getting annoying: having 3 top engines for 5 years at fully or almost fully the same strength: for how long could that continue? Besides your ranting about H - SF and nothing new (were I disagree), isn't having 3 engines much(!) more exciting than having allways the same engine fo...

Re: MYG

Hello all, most of you guessed right - but as this is a Houdini pre release version it will not be included officially in my list. Nonetheless here is how it would look like: # PLAYER : RATING ERROR (%) D(%) OppAvg CFS(next) POINTS W D L PLAYED 1 NEW : 3343 10 81.7% 30.3 3059 100 2694.5 ...

Re: MYG

Now barely winning against Stockfish. When I see a strong program like this doing so bad against Stockfish, I m sure there is a problem with Stockfish rating. It is indeed deflated because Stockfish draw too many game and is doing much better against close opponent. Do not forget that K performes m...

Re: MYG

One possible issue is that Contempt in Stockfish is broken or at least too rudimentary. Komodo has much more involved Contempt, maybe that's why it is gaining significantly ELO in rating lists such as yours. i can agree to a brocken SF contempt implementation but that would be something someone wou...

Re: MYG

Maybe something then was wrong in your test or the data was too few. ... In the test you have seen a contempt of 20 was useless for a rating list (no doubt here). Maybe the draw problem (if any) is not related to the contempt?! I would rather trust my data and doubt the theorie than the other way a...

Re: MYG

After about 50% of the game the score against SF is +23, =70, 1-19 Because you made some well educated guesses, the rating with a propper ORDO calc would be: 1 NEW : 3353 16 80.5% 31.8 3080 100 1435.5 1152 567 65 1784 2 Komodo 11.2.2 : 3319 11 78.3% 35.8 3073 90 2671.5 2060 1223 130 3413 3 Stockfish...

Re: MYG

... I think the use of positive Contempt for rating lists would significantly increase Stockfish rating on these lists. I consider that a myth repeated to often. I played a full set of games against all opponents with SF 7 on the 18th of June 2016 and it (Version 7 at that time) gained 4 Elo with a...
