Re: RE chessbase light

I believe that Chessbase Light 2009 Premium is the best value product Chessbase offers. That being said, I would never ante up the charge to move to Chessbase 11 as it stands now - although a Chessbase 11 Light Premium sounds mighty fine to me.

Re: Chessbase 10 SP5 (July 22, 2010)

Herbert - my version is dated May 29, 2010. I downloaded it from the Chessbase site (non premium version) about a week ago and purchased the activation key the same day. I would guess that if you cannot get the online updates to work properly, you could simply reinstall the program (here I cannot ad...

Re: Chessbase 10 SP5 (July 22, 2010)

It all depends. I just upgraded my CB9 to ChessbaseLight 2009 Premium, and I couldn't be happier. Of course, Windows 7 compatability was the big issue. Also, the price for this is more manageable than to CB10 as long as you do not need the Playchess sub or database that comes with CB10. The database...

Re: Houdini 1.03 is available

I had to remove the 32 bit 2 cpu version from my machine as well. In Chessbase 9, you can load the engine, but it does not work in multi PV mode, and the crash makes CB9 non responsive. In Aquarium interface it was actually worse - it would not start analysis, and also caused Aquarium to be non resp...

Re: Please you are embarrassing me

Of course I don't want you to stop the problems from Fischer. I forget about the politics as well, and as you can see, there are some who do enjoy comparing the engine results vs. Fischer. It's your call.

Re: Bobby Fischer outrageous chess moves,position 7 & 8.

Certainly the first problem is easy. But mate is a bit far away in the second position with Black countering Qe5. Fritz 11 prefers Qf3 instead of Bobby's move.

Re: Bobby Fischer outrageous chess moves,position 5 & 6.

Personally, I liked your interpretation when you presented the solution. I betcha other weaker players on the forum appreciated it too. Not that Mate in 1 requires explanation.
