Re: Hash Collision?

Hi Fred, do not give up! I believe that your bug (as has been pointed out by HGM) lies in handling mat scores in your hash table (TT). You have to realize that mat score is something very different from ordinary (material + position evaluation) score. It reflects distance from the root to the given ...

Game identification problem

I use Arena for testing my engine (single games, engine matches, tournaments). So output is some PGN file on one side and on the other side there is arena.debug file with logged communication between Arena and engines and eventually my own log file. My problem is: how to identify one particular game...

Re: writing a word document with diagrams

Perhaps it should be better to present the script for printing of an empty diagram just stripped to the core: /vpos 555 def /newline {/vpos vpos 15 sub def 100 vpos moveto show} def /ChessMerida findfont 15 scalefont setfont (!""""""""#) newline ($ + + + +%) newline ($+ + + + %) newline ($...

Re: writing a word document with diagrams

Thanks for all the replies. Unfortunately I still do not understand how to put graphic into a word document or into a pdf file Well, it is not so trivial task if you do not want to do it manually (in the case of a Word document) or if it is a PDF file. I want to do it because I want to be able to s...

Re: writing a word document with diagrams

This seems to be a text chessboard. For example, just copy and paste the text below and set "Chess Merida"as the text font and there will be a diagram. The nice thing about this is that you can make diagrams in any text editor this way. t+ WlV T Oo+m+oOo +o+ M + + +oO +v + +p+ + + +p+nPp pPpN Pb+ R...

Re: writing a word document with diagrams

Is it so necessary for you to have a Word document? If not, then I suggest you to create it in Postscript and eventually export it to a PDF file, for instance using Ghostscript. I use this method for example when I generate automatic analysis of a game with some strong engine. Here is a such PDF: ht...

Re: Unusual Hash Probe results?

Could you provide me some of those positions in question? I would like to run the same test and let's see if I observe this effect.

Re: perft and nps speed

i found that the eval consume the most time of speed in my sperft ! i removed some code from eval and get faster speed! so the problem should be in the evaluate ?? For me the evaluatiuon is definitely the most time consuming part of the search varying from (do not remember exact numbers) 25% (in wi...

Re: Other attack generator just for good measure ... C++ onl

Maybe using preprocessor macros?. May be a bit more of comments would be enough or even better few words on how your alghoritm works and what are the ideas behind it. Of course we can always spend half an hour trying to understand ourself decrypting the code, but because I am already doing it with ...
