Re: 237 Mn/s for Stockfish on an 2xEPYC 7742

How far it is above Crafty really doesn't affect my comments. 2K nodes per second is not going to beat a GM. Might not beat a master, since most of the speculative pruning stuff really needs exceptional search depth to bypass the holes it causes. 1 second per move vs 180 seconds per move? Maybe. Bu...

Re: Alpha subZero - NN for CPU

A 16x3 distilled net or so? Test it strength-wise on 4 CPU against a BLAS backend 128x10 net at 60s + 0.6s.

Re: Elo - elo - ELO

Writing ELO and elo has consequences. When I entered this chess community I was confused by the different spellings, and I simply concluded that it must be some kind of abbreviation like CPU/cpu and did not bother to look up and started to imitate the spelling without knowing better... So, the only...

Re: AMD Ryzen R9 3950X new build

I would like to thank you all for this thread. It has helped me a lot. I have another question however. It was stated that even with an RTX2600 card, Leela will run out of RAM when doing longer analysis. Is there any way this could be quantified? It does not have to be precise. For example, lets sa...

Re: Version 0.13 released

Version 0.13 released 1) Bugs fixed: almost all known bugs so far, including (serious ones): - Crashed when creating a database and/or open games from databases in some systems - Could not parse some PGN games - Ruled O-O+ and O-O-O+ as illegal moves - Did not swap multi-timers when changing engine...

Re: CCRL adapted TC to current hardware

I am very much in favour of incremental clock which in my case (I currently test at 40/2) would be 4+2, with a ratio of 120, while approximately keeping total game time the same. ... I guess this was a typo and you meant 2+2 instead of 4+2? 40/2 is similar (just a bit weaker IIRC) compared to 2+1 s...

Re: Best Nets for Lc0 Page

Sergio 1705 net is out. Strong!! I would say that Sergio's 256x20b net 1541 net is the strongest around for my OC-ed RTX 2070 GPU on any reasonable TC, even LTC. Here is what I get with the BigNets: Games at 30'' + 0.3'' SV 384x30b Rank Name Elo +/- Games Score Draws 1 1573 36 19 800 55.1% 38.3% 2 ...

Re: CCRL adapted TC to current hardware

Thanks for the explanations, both of you. ... My understanding is that CCRL is sticking to the old repeating time control (which at equal total time used leads to lower quality compared to standard increment, ... I see it exactly the opposite, usually inc games lead to low quality in the endgame, o...
