Re: CSVN tournament, in Amersfoort, the Netherlands

Hi Ronald,

There is a brewery located practically next door to the denksport centrum^^

Re: New engine releases 2019

Thank you for your question Günther! I only have some 4 core AMD processors, so it's tested with 4,. (And it's an improvement with 4, to be sure) I didn't implement a limit though, so conceivably 128 might also work.. Because of your question I looked at the code to see if there is something to be s...

Re: 73rd Amateur Series Division 6

Hi Graham, thank you for the tourney! FrankWalter did okay I think.. I expected him to score some points, and he did - and I expected him to finish bottom and he did;-) Obviously I will try to release FW 2.4.0 before D7 starts next season, but I will be very conservative in predicting elo gains ^^ t...

Re: Swiss Tournament. Edition VIII. Group E.

Congratulations to Lc0! only lost half a point (nice job, kingfisher!) but that was a repetition straight out of the opening. (I happened to see this game - the webviewer really is a nice addition!) Both my engines ended with 7.5 points^^ progress and 500 elo difference can be compensated with a bit...

Re: Swiss Tournament. Edition VIII. Group E.

It should have decided the game before the endgame:-) I will try improve FrankWalter before the next Group (should it promote) so that the absence of this file will not hurt it anymore (https://github.com/ljgw/frankwalter/issues/8). If all else fails, I can always deny programming FrankWalter and ch...

Re: Swiss Tournament. Edition VIII. Group E.

T Hi Sergio, I happened to see FrankWalter in action, and it had a weird draw against SamChess in the endgame. It was winning a KRPvKR endgame but at some point blundered its extra pawn - well into Syzygy tablebase range! Could you tell me what your setup is regarding the syzygy endgame tablebases? ...

Re: FrankWalter 2.3.3 64-bit Gauntlet for CCRL 40/40

Wow, what an enormous amount of testing Tirsa! Thank you in particular for testing FW2.3.3:-) It a shame to see FW regress, but it happens I suppose, especially when testing at long time controls. My own tests at shorter TC indicated progression, but I've since identified a bug in the transposition ...
