Re: how many points will Komodo score vs. GM Lenderman?

Poor Lenderman, he does not know what he did wrong or how Komodo outplayed him, he kept saying I did NOT blunder, what he does NOT understand is that Komodo squeezed him little by little like a Giant Anaconda Snake from the Amazon and the calculating power of the 32 cores plus MCTS choke his positi...

Re: Ethereal 12 (3400) loses to God! (Most Amazing Game I've Seen)

It is tough to appreciate a game when there is an engine nagging in the background, and almost impossible to improve your own analytical ability. Yes, recently Nakamura has been analyzing games from the Magnus Invitational tournament with an engine "nagging" in the background. And it has been inter...

Re: CyberNezh BOT game review...Open Tal?

Not to rain too much on the CyberNezh Parade but of course needed to take a bit deeper look...has CyberNezh played some match games vs Open Tal? What was the result?... Thx AR :) 400-500 Elo difference in strength. :) OpenTal was designed (by me) for patzers (like me) to train against, while...

Re: Giving up the center

For human play, you're much better off playing something you enjoy and will stick with long enough to understand well, even if all engines think it's 15 cp worse than some alternative, and even if it violates a rule of thumb articulated by some strong human player. All of your points are very good,...

Re: Giving up the center

It is different when pawn on c4 because you can't play Bc4. Stockfish suggests you have to play Be6 after Bc4 instead of Bg5. [Event "Edited game"] [Date "2020.05.02"] [Round "-"] [White "-"] [Black "-"] [Result "*"] 1. e4 d6 2. d4 e5 3. Nf3 Nf6 4. Nc3 Nc6 5. dxe5 dxe5 6. Qxd8+ Kxd8 7. Bc4 Be6 8. B...

Re: Giving up the center

Nc6 bad move too because you can't play de de. Also de is fine for black, white should play the space-gaining d5. After de equalizes quickly. [Event "?"] [Site "?"] [Date "????.??.??"] [Round "?"] [White "?"] [Black "?"] [Result "*"] [PlyCount "18"] 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 d6 3. d4 Nf6 4. Nc3 Nc6 5. dxe5 N...

Nc6 bad move too because you can't play de de. So only alternative or only move Nd7.
Nbd7 is standard Philidor's Defense, Improved Hanham Variation.

Analyzing such early and ridiculously broad variations with an engine is a waste of time.

Get to the tabiya first and then analyze.

Re: Banksia GUI released

A couple of times I tried to use the Banksia GUI for running a tournament but each time it exited after a couple of games. I wonder if there is a way to determine the reason. I have a 64-bit Windows 10, Hungarian. Yeah. I REALLY love Banksia, but had to give up on it, due to endless crashes when ru...

Re: Ethereal 12 (3400) loses to God! (Most Amazing Game I've Seen)

Brendan sees the wood, lots of the others only see the trees. Brendan is simply thinking at a way higher level and knows what is to be learnt and understood from this game is not to be found by atomising it into separate moves. He refuses to see the details that disprove his sweeping claims. That's...
