Re: Fritz 17

Recently when Komodo 13.2 came out, I saw the new "personalities" feature and since this is the area of computer chess that interests me most, and I can afford the small fee, I bought it. I guess the question is: was it worth the asking price? Did it provide anything that the best Rodent personalit...

Re: Fritz 17

Why would you need to buy one ? Long answer: This is unrelated to Fat Fritz, Stockfish has been #1 chess engine for years, and it has been free, yet people keepe buying other commercial chess engines like Komodo or Fritz. They need to buy it because others need to sell them. My computer is 9 years ...

Re: There are NOT any Books on FRC Opening.............

One friend of mine is barely 2100, but a creative genius (not only in chess) and in the post classical tournament FRC tournament, he was crushing 2480 Elo IMs and crushed a GM , and finished very highly in the standings. Can you show us some of these games? It might be very interesting to see where...

Re: There are NOT any Books on FRC Opening.............

...the strategies for space, development, material, and center control will always vary from position to position. As IS the case in Classical chess. In the hedgehog structures for example, space means less because of the "coiled spring" nature of the setup. Similar variance of strategies (or "weig...

Re: There are NOT any Books on FRC Opening.............

The principles of opening play remain the same, regardless of how the pieces are shuffled. Any book on opening strategy will be useful...because they'll say "develop your pieces, control the center, protect your king". The point of FRC is that there IS no memorizable theory...if you want an "opening...

Re: The day when imagination and will was stronger than artificial intelligence. Man against chess machine. November 201

Ah, this one wasn't beating just the lag or GUI bugs, so I'm impressed. Good job Father :) Tim Ferriss once talked about how he became the first foreigner to win the Chinese Kickboxing Championships... To do so, he noticed a loophole in the rules, and that is this: "If a fighter steps out of the ri...

Re: https://mzchessforum.altervista.org

The only commercial product being "pirated" (does the term apply to chess games?) is the Mega Database. Really? Perhaps you missed the section where commercial video courses, eBooks (or real book scans) and so on. It seems only commercial engines are protected. Other forms of copyrighted material a...

Re: https://mzchessforum.altervista.org

I suspect the site was hacked by someone who was mistreated by the admins. Or more likely, by a company who is losing a lot of money due to piracy. Surely they can afford to hire an "ethical hacker" to solve such a problem for them. Perhaps the same one who was hired to solve the same "problem" at ...

Re: did magnus carlsen play so poorly?

https://company.playmagnus.com/play-magnus It seems that magnus at age 5 is simply the random mover and I believe that magnus carlsen even at age 5 played better than it. I also tried the application at older age and I believe magnus was stronger than the playing strength they give him also at late...
