Re: M1 Apple Silicon for Chess?

I am for sure not aware and doubtful any Samsung phone/tablet can hold these numbers after 3min search.

Re: Benchmark for new iPad Pro with M1 chip

Is this using the old Stockfish?
Because latest version (SF13) included into “Chess Studio” starts at about 11000 kn/s but after about 3min drops to around 8500 kn/s.
I guess this is related to thermal.

Re: M1 Apple Silicon for Chess?

I am using “Chess Studio” a great app running SF13.
There is a NNUE option but this slows down SF 13 from about 9000 kn/s to 1500 kn/s so not sure it’s useful….

Re: M1 Apple Silicon for Chess?

Never better served than by yourself.... Just received my iPad Pro 11 M1, fresh install (maybe still some background processing) after 3min search starting position, I have 8'800 kn/s. I guess this is about 1.5x previous gen iPad Pro. Its not the 13'000 kn/s but its still an interesting bump up from...

Re: M1 Apple Silicon for Chess?

Well…. I guess that if it hits 13000 kn/s that would still be a pretty amazing result for a tablet!

Re: Komodo Dragon 2 released.

Dragon 2 is now the favorite against Stockfish 13 on typical modern hardware.

Should I read that Dragon 2 is stronger than Stockfish 13?
If yes, any estimation how how much?

Re: Stockfish NNUE

I tried this, but even if there is no eval.bin file, the engine would still work..... thus I have no clue which eval file it uses.

Re: Stockfish NNUE

Hello Yes but there is no clear full pass such as C:\Users\David\Documents\ChessEngines\StockfishNull\Stockfish-NNUE\eval but just something like eval/eval.bin rgds If it's .\eval\eval.bin then rename your net file eval.bin and put in that eval folder. That or edit the current path to whatever you ...
