Re: Exist a posibility to play against MK V (1981 computerworldchampion) on PC?

Hi, you can use more than 250 old chess computer programs (also MK V) with CB-Emu_Pro from my website: https://fhub.jimdofree.com/ It also includes a special version 'MessChess' which allows to run all those programs in any chess GUI which supports the WB or UCI protocol (e.g. WinBoard, Arena, Hiar...

Re: Leela and NVIDIA clock throttling (and overheating)

If it's a really hot day and I'm running LC0 I sometimes throttle back the GPU using MSI Afterburner. I've only got a GTX970 but I still get worried when it's running flat out.

https://www.msi.com/page/afterburner

It displays loads of monitoring data too which you might find useful.

Re: Banksia GUI released

A couple of questions about analysing games. I've finished my game and have the Main board, Score Graph, Moves, Engine Info windows open. I can click on the moves in Moves to jump to a certain point in the game, but how can I: 1. Configure the colours of the Score Graph so that the score at the curr...

Re: Banksia GUI released

Is there a chance to support DGT eletronic boards ? Sorry, not for the coming time. I don't have those boards either. If you ever decide to try this please contact me. You will probably do it by interfacing with DGT's driver DGTEBDLL.dll using their API. As I have a Novag UCB rather than a DGT boar...

Re: Arena frustrations

Did you know you can resize the PGN window and move it around the screen? It remembers how big and where it is next time it opens, so although you can't stop it appearing you can make it really small and put it somewhere inconspicuous.

Re: How can I set Leela Zero to use 8 cores?

For using the GPU version of LCzero is there any advantage in using anything other than one core ("-t 1")?

Thanks.

Re: about using winboard

For me, as a user, it is not so much important what I can do with a GUI in the first minute, but rather what I can do in the 20 years after that. This is what makes me prefer one GUI over another. Discoverability is a nice feature, but if it forces things to work in a simplistic and cumbersome way ...

Re: SALC V5 openings and books launched

Hi Stefan, I see you've included an Arena (ABK) version, so thank you! For anybody interested I have a program ABK2BIN that can convert this to Polyglot, for example to use it in LucasChess: http://goneill.co.nz/chess.php Also included are ABK2OBK (for Chessmaster), OBK2ABK, OBK2BIN, BIN2ABK and BIN...

Re: Fizbo 2 has been released

It seems item [2] was my mistake. Somehow the Threads setting in ArenaEng.cfg had been set back to 1 from 8. Not sure how, but never mind. I looked into the memory issue and found that Fizbo 1.9 BMI2 also did the same thing. So I downloaded the standard Fizbo2 and it too only seems to use around 5MB...

Re: Fizbo 2 has been released

Hi Youri, I'm using the BMI2 version on my i7-4790 Win10 PC which has 4 cores but 8 threads as I've turned on HT. I noticed a couple of things in Arena: 1) Although set to use 256MB hash the engine is showing only 4-6MB in the Engine window. I opened Resource Monitor and under Memory it shows Fizbo ...
