Dear friends, As you may know, I gave up computer chess to dedicate myself to chess for the blind. I organize tournaments on Skype, and they are becoming more and more popular. I suspect one of the participants of cheating. His behaviour is quite strange : he starts playing very good chess, and at s...

Re: Epilogue

The player has been interviewed by our comitee. He could not quite explain the tactics behind Kg8. For him it was only a waiting move. Still, his comments on the whole game were rather convincing. He has been given the benefit of the doubt, and he will stay in the tournament. Olivier I'm really sor...

Re: A possible case of cheating

For me 18.-Kf8 is a very strange, non-human kind of move. My reaction was like "Hey what is this??" Quick check showed that this move was prefered by the loaded engine.... Show me a single engine that would play Kf8 in that position :) Fritz 11 does. Actually I am focusing on Fritz because I know t...

Re: A possible case of cheating

28.... Qxa2 cannot possibly be seen by a 1700 FIDE rated player unless he had engine assistance, as a player of that level cannot normally see the tactics that win. If it was a one of two move tactic then I can agree but you need to see that the resulting attack is good for black. If black were gen...

The end of ChessWar

Dear friends, This is to confirm the rumours that ChessWar is going to an end. Of course, I am annoyed by all the clone/derivative stories, but the main reason is I now want to spend my time with other things. I am still interested in amateur chess engines, and I really liked the social event of bro...
