Re: Komodo 1973.00 64-bit - Stockfish 261217 64, match1000

How to interpret the result comparing T1 and T4 ? Looks like Komodo with parallel search could reduce the distance to Stockfish by 13 Elo. Such a "reduction of distance" looks just "a bit beyond the expected", since it should be about 10, interpolating your conditions from the "normal reductions" i...

Perhaps it's too early in thinking of the next of the next of the next, but I think that doubling again at least a couple of times till 16 cpu (T4?) is worth a 15-days test, in order to let possible some extrapolation for correspondence players.
Happy 2018!

Re: WiLo rating properties from FGRL rating lists.

Another issue is [...] not a minor issue [...] to maximize WILO, he should trade queens That's the main issue, IMO. The logic is quite simple: I'm playing an interesting unclear game but draws don't matter -> I manage to draw this game and I'll try to win the next one (no matter if I will win after...

Re: Made In Heaven class Time Control Comparison

Maybe, though the low # of games and the different versions of Stockfish and Houdini. Maybe in a few months will be even better including data from CEGT 40120, CCRL 40/40, and LightSpeed too, but merging data from different conditions and "flimsy different" books is a different issue and, maybe, a h...

Re: Made In Heaven class Time Control Comparison

It looks the same as the original because it's just slightly revised: the only difference is that the last part of the curves (the last 2 values) are now more "compressed" within the graph. So, basically it's the same as the original, with a slightly corrected "optical illusion". Of course, with oth...

Re: Made In Heaven class Time Control Comparison

Thank you. I think it's a good opening suite but I'm working to test such suites to merge them in a better tuned suite, using the criteria you mentioned and many other ones too. BTW, just to give a slightly better "idea of extrapolation" from your graph, I've tuned the last two values to see "propor...
