Re: Twin 2080Tis and large NN

Large NNs (384x30) really do improve the performance of lc0( whether Laskos Sir fully agrees or not ). Of course, twin 2080 Tis help :) , but on the other hand using a large NN with a weak GPU makes no sense and would simply backfire. That's right. I'm using 30x384 and 2x RTX 2080 Ti and it's great...

Chess Software on iPadOS

Is our chess software ready to be used on iPadOS? Especially with the iPad Pro 3 or soon iPad Pro 4? With the iPadOS it should be even possible to use the magic mouse!, the magic trackpad and also the bluetooth keyboard from an iMac or Mac Pro. Also it's possible to see the display on a big monitor ...

Re: GPU recommendation needed

I have a dual-Xeon system with 2 Intel Xeon E5-2686-V3 cores or 2 X 18 = 36 cores total. I would like to add a decent GPU card so as to test lc0 but not reach for the top (GTX 2080). What would be recommended in terms of a value purchase: GTX 2070; GTX 2070S; or is there an AMD GPU I should look at...

Re: Is the 320x24b larger net the strongest around for RTX GPU?

Jhorthos is building and training larger and smaller than the default 256x20b T40 nets, one can download them here: https://github.com/jhorthos/lczero-training/wiki/Leela-Training On several test suites, which combined, were pretty faithful to longer time/position in assessing strength of different...

Re: Is the 320x24b larger net the strongest around for RTX GPU?

There is a basic problem to make test match with longer TC than blitz: You need a hardware with huge RAM. Leela has a very unpleasant behavior namely her memory usage enhances together with the playing time. When you use Leela for infinite analysis it is a natural phenomenon but if you make a conse...

I can do the tests but I'm doing it with CB, so I need .cbh and not epd or pgn.
And a link where I can download opening200revised and arasan21beta. Others are welcome too.

Re: Leela outplays SF Dev in a position that SF evaluates as draw

Having said all that, I don't think SF is totally off the hook yet. It just sounded like SF was being criticised for not having an evaluation of e.g. -2, when -2 is probably totally wrong. SF (W) & Leela (B) play to this position: 3r4/pp4k1/1bn1Rr1p/6p1/5p1P/1NP2P2/PP1R1P1B/6K1 w - - 1 11 SF thinks...

Re: buying a new computer

I am looking for a new computer since it has been a while. I saw a 2990wx with 16 GB ram, 2080ti, 500 SSD drive for 3k. Overall do you think this is a reasonable deal? Will this be a good setup for a few years? I know new chips are coming out, but will this be good "bang for your buck"? I know a fe...
