Re: Freeware Chess GUI's that hook up to ICC & utilize U
For Raptor's online tournaments, I use winboard/xboard. The new releases allow you to utilize uci by adding the -fUCI command line parameter. The older versions required you to manually setup UCI via polyglot(or UCI2WB adapter) If you need help with this let me know and I can give u a guide of sorts.

Re: Testing resolution and combining results
What I do with Raptor is I go ahead and finish the STC tests to validate my changes. My reasoning for it is: It takes shorter time to complete more STC games than introducing LTC games. IMO it is better to finish one test and have enough resolution/confidence that a change actually works. In my expe...

Re: TCEC stage 3 , New Houdini starts with a bang
I suppose I follow your arguement now, all you are saying is that the rules should be clear and unbiased. Which is to say, if program A was misconfigured, and it was noted that it was misconfigured, either replay the game irrespective of the result or don't replay THAT game no matter what. Your argu...

Re: Komodo 10.1
Just making a wild guess here: Are you sure you do not have something else running? that is occupying at least 1 core of your machine? Sometimes background processes silently hog resources that go unnoticed but are very visible with chess programs. With no real information this is just my guess. May...

Re: TCEC stage 3 , New Houdini starts with a bang
The issue is the part of the above statement in bold. This would make the decision biased (in favour of Houdini). So Mark would indeed have to agree to such arrangement. So did Houdini's author agree with the replay? It seems likely he wasn't even asked. The issue is not about who's favour it would...

Re: TCEC stage 3 , New Houdini starts with a bang
> Imagine, what would happen if Houdini would have won the second game also and the Komodo team would claim "Oh, here is one more abolute-best setting 5 / 107" .... we could repeat this situation until komodo wins the n-th repitition ... This is actually not even possible. As the settings are reque...

Re: 2016 10th Annual World Computer Rapid Chess Championship
Just a side note, Raptor ran on Intel i5 laptop with 2cores@2.5GHz for the first 6 rounds, post that Raptor ran on the 32 core server.
I am not sure if that is reflected or not, in case someone is interested in that level of accuracy.

Re: 2016 10th Annual World Computer Rapid Chess Championship
I am ok with either of the two weekends, preferably 16/17 but even 23/24 is fine with me. Raptor will participate in the event. All the details remain the same except HW, which will be 2xAMD Opteron 6276 (32 core). Thanks again for taking up the tedious task of being a TD. Hope to see everyone there...
