Re: Fritz 17

Thinking of buying Fritz 17.
One question. Will the current NN being used by Fat Fritz be updated ?
If so, how will it reach the Customers ?
Also, if so, will it be free Updates or will we have to pay for every updated NN ?

Will Fat Fritz be doing alright with GeForce GTX 1070 or will Stockfish be stronger on my Ryzen 7 2700x?
Stockfish will be stronger on your Ryzen 7 2700x without a doubt.
Upgrade to a GTX 20 Series GPU, unless you want to use Fat Fritz in Slow-Motion.

Re: Fritz 17

My understanding is that to be able to utilise cuddn-fp 16 you need to have an RTX 20 Series Card, like 2060, 2070, 2080 Super and of course the 2080 Ti Card. He has an old GTX 1660, which will have only have cudnn as backend option, not cuddn-fp-16, unless of course he has the new GTX1660 Super,whi...

Re: Fritz 17

I would like to know whether it's worth getting Fat Fritz with only a GTX 1660 GPU. I have Ryzen 1700 with 32GB RAM. Does it just run a little slower or not at at all? Yes - it will be fine. Albert says that you can actually use fp16 according to a well-known tester. Not quite as fast as the RTX ca...

Re: Fritz 17

Why do we keep talking about copyright here? Over 17 pages That is the problem of Chessbase alone! We buy FatFritz and everything else is not our problem. It's that simple. Fully agree. Private Enterprise should be rewarded, not criticized. If someone wants to make some money out of computer chess,...

Re: Strong Leela nets competition

Playing big NNs against small NNs is one thing. Playing those NNs against Stockfish is a whole new Ball Game . You "MAY" get different results if you play them against Stockfish. "MAY" because your GPUs are weak and will be unable to fully utilize the powere of large NNs. So, they may again lose on ...

Sorry Anil, but what are the parameters of that "desktop"?
With twin RTX 2080 Ti you can win easily against a 16 cores machine too.
8 Real Cores,as HT is off.
