Re: Two GPUs

for use both GPU in Arena you must set: Backend: Multiplexing BackendOptions: (backend=cudnn,gpu=0),(backend=cudnn,gpu=1) For the RTX cards presumably it'd look like this: Backend: Multiplexing BackendOptions: (backend=cudnn-fp16,gpu=0),(backend=cudnn-fp16,gpu=1) Yes What is the difference in these...

Re: King Solomon's position, again (Andscacs & Houdini)

Here is a pv of King Solomon's position using a recent developmental version of Stockfish running for about 16 hours on my computer with an I9-7980XE processor (18 core): New game Line r5k1/1ppq1bp1/2n4r/1BBn1p2/p1NPp2p/P3P1P1/1PQ2P1P/2R3RK b - - 0 1 Analysis by Stockfish 140119 64 BMI2: 1...Bh5 2....

Re: Two GPUs

Just trying an experiment with Lc0. To use two graphics cards, should they be set to run in SLI or independently? Thanks You must choose which GPU to use, or both, gpu=0 is for the first GPU and gpu=1 the second, for example in Cutechess -engine name="Lc0201_32644" cmd="lc0.exe" option.Threads=4 no...

Re: Can somebody explain what makes Leela as strong as Komodo?

Is it the Hardware speed or some breakthrough programming innovation? So far what is the score between Komodo and Leela ? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ymDA7-hdkKA My answer is a bit different than others. Leela (following AlphaZero) has found a way to use a powerful GPU for chess, which is itsel...

Re: Lc0 with latest test30 nets is vastly superior positionally

On my positional Openings200 test suite, largely based on databases of human games, I used Polyglot with particular settings, as engines like Lc0 and SF behave very differently in depth and such output. I used a setting whether from time/2 to time/1 engine sticks to the correct solution, as this se...

Re: Lc0 with latest test30 nets is vastly superior positionally

b2 b3.JPGAnother position that I suggest to add is this. Very very difficult for a program to find b3 in order to reply on Nc5 with Rb1! and b4 (what does Leela play?) This one Leela with one of the latest test30 nets doesn't solve, it sticks to f2-f3 for at least 20 minutes (40 million nodes). The...

Re: Spectacular incursion of the King

Reviewing the 8th game of Balsa suite of some of my previous tests, I found that the move 8 ... h5 that I think is the best option for Black, had already been played by other versions but unfortunately is no longer played by the most recent versions. Therefore we see that the process of learning has...

Re: Spectacular incursion of the King

It is interesting to note that from another test with Stockfish Dev and same versions of Lc0 32367 and 32467 on 2xGTX 1060, in the 8th position of Balsa test, version 32367 won again with 8...h5 and the pawn sacrifice h4 in the following game, while version 32467 only draw with 8...Ae7.
