Re: Banksia GUI released

The way cutechess gui do it. "Syzygy tablebase path" -> Tablebase adjudication. Once the tablebase location has been added, the checkbox for tablebase adjudication become available. Syzygy path for engines need to be added manually. This can be argued to be little inconvenient at times but it works...

Re: On-line engine blitz tourney July

LeelaRB was playing on a low cost Ryzen 7 3700U laptop, using the DX12 version of v 0.26.0 running on the integrated Vega 10 graphics. It lost one game horribly, not sure why that was, but otherwise it seemed to play pretty well. Before the tournament Nightmare played some games against LeelaRB and...

Re: For those who run tournaments/matches

An SSD will not be damaged by lots of read activity, there are no moving parts. The lower capacity ones are quite cheap these days.

Re: 960 Compliant Chess Guis and engines

I mainly use ChessBase, Hiarcs Chess Explorer and Shredder Chessbase no in my experience. Shredder GUI from shredderchess.com definitely yes. The Hiarcs chess engine supports chess960 so I'd be very surprised indeed if Hiarcs Explorer doesn't. You could reach out to their support for help with it. ...

Re: 960 Compliant Chess Guis and engines

Until now I have been unsuccessful in finding a chess engine or a chess GUI that obeys all the rules of 960 chess. Cutechess plays chess960 engine to engine matches, as does ChessGUI. Arena has some capability as well, and Winboard too. I have only used ChessGUI and Cutechess myself. There are 72 e...

Re: CEGT - rating lists June 21th 2020

Hi Larry, the NN-testing is the only problem because the whole machine is blocked for a 100-games-match. That takes time. A/B-engines-testing is no problem, with "concurrency 5" 100 games are ready in about 27-28 hours. Best wishes, G.S. (CEGT team) Yes painful. But on a 6-core machine for example,...

After the first 500 FRC games I've played it is +77 Elo (Ordo = +86 Elo)
Over 1,500 games now, and holding at +75 Elo (bayeselo). Final games coming in next few days.

Re: SlowChess Blitz Classic 2.0

For the disconnects I did try a 2000 game FRC gauntlet and got 1 disconnect, my guess is it's tablebase related in some way since the last eval was a won tablebase evaluation, and I didn't find any disconnects in my old pgns and don't usually test with tablebases on. The strength gain from 5-piece ...

Re: Help to replace desktop with a laptop to run ChessMaster

If funds permit another option is to buy a new laptop and run Windows XP in a virtual machine if you have installation media/key for it.
