Re: Hidden Step (Benjamin, Berserk, Ceibo, Drofa, Dumb, Galjoen, K2, KoK, KnightX, Nawito, Qapla, Supernova, Velvet, Wax
Curious, what are Benjamin's ES2/ES3 settings (if you're willing to share)? Most of the changes in Benjamin.eng file are common for the ES, ES2, and ES3 versions: [Pawn Value = 117] (default = 100) [Knight Value = 125] (def = 100) [Bishop Value = 125] (def = 100) [Rook Value = 124] (def = 100) [Que...

Thanks, that's interesting. This net's posted date is Dec 2, 2020, so it's not that old - newer than the default SF net, in fact(!)

Re: Dragon
Always buy when they have the 25% off semi-annual one-day sales (in spring/fall). The CB 16 upgrade was no more than $80.

I did test this version of Heka for a while, but discovered that the new piece value settings unfortunately did not bring about any trade avoidance capabilities whatsoever. They didn't seem to have any tangible effects at all.

Re: ShashChess
Contempt could be useful to the Tal personality, especially if the user chooses to turn NNUE off, since it can benefit from 'optimism' and draw-avoidance by its very nature. This would also apply to analysis done by the Tal personality.

Re: Honey 13
I can attest that Harmon plays a really fine brand of chess for a NNUE net. I'll post one of its amazing wins when I have time. :) To illustrate what Harmon's capable of, I'm posting an entertaining and adventurous game. First, here's an amusing diagram from this game: [D]4N2r/pp6/6k1/2p1N3/NP3p2/2...

Hi Master Om,
I'm curious, which net are you using with the Nodchip SF of 20/07/19?
I find it intriguing that the older nets could still be better at analysis.
Thanks!

It's surely nice to now have engines that can thoroughly punish such passive play.

Re: Fritz 17
Did you purchase FF2 separately? I bought Fritz 17 (which came with FF1) back in 2019 and have updated it, but I see no FF2 in there.
