Re: Leela doing well in chess 960 in TCEC!

Leela might well beat Stockfish. NNUE without training on FRC positions seem to suffer a lot there. TCEC S19 Sufi showed that " Leela did not lose Stockfish in well balanced opening positions in the first half, but she lose Stockfish in TCEC custom opening positions, one sided almost losing positio...

Re: Leela doing well in chess 960 in TCEC!

Comparing Leela against two others NN that are not trained on FRC either, and Komodo that's not tuned on FRC and is much weaker in standard chess, doesn't show that it doesn't lose elo in FRC. In FRC semi-league 2, Leela drew all 6 games against Ethereal, and without putting it in a difficult posit...

Winning from start advantage is so small in chess that you will never find it against very strong engines. Likelywise, initial touch advantage in soccer is not a forced win advantage ( both scanerios, unless opponents do errors). That is why, my first assumption of chess is draw. Some people wont be...

Leela doing well in chess 960 in TCEC!

There were some myths (or data) that Leela will not be good at chess 960. Now she is the only engine in TCEC chess 960 (FRC) without a loss in the whole tourney so far! (Afaik, there were a few FRC positions in the book that was briefly used in T60 but training with a book was stopped because there ...

Beyond Leela Zero ( Leela will get part of Stockfish blood)

COPY FROM Jhorthos STARTING WITH J92-340, training will include a small percentage of value repair games, which use SF12 (1M nodes) to identify poor positional J92 evaluations (no search). This is clearly non-zero, so if community sentimentis to continue zero-only nets in competition, J92-330 is eff...

For people who are still wondering white or black forced win, show me a single game where one side forced win without a single blunder from the opponent.

There are billions of computers games and human games played already to proove/ disprove your assumption.

Re: Perfect chess engine elo ( 32 men TB) can be within 200 of Stocfish in Tcec LTC conditions

Complexity or superiority of position come from three sources of methods. 1. better winning chance ( Leela chooses 1.d4 over 1. b4 because during her training with 800 nodes per move, her opponent blundered more when she played 1. d4). 2. Hand Crafted Evaluation of Stockfish prefer 1. d4 over 1. b4 ...
