Re: SF-NNUE - failed to store learned nn.bin

Yes, reducing the eval_save_interval saves the intermediate nets. But the final net still does not save. Progress at least. Guess the files I am using are just too small. //------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ setoption name Eva...

Re: SF-NNUE - failed to store learned nn.bin

Just cut-and-pasted the Readme commands - without understanding. See below. So ... eval_save_interval 250000000 Perhaps then did not have enough data for eval_save to be triggered. Loop=1M and validation 100k as a quick test "gensfen depth 2 loop 1000000 use_draw_in_training_data_generation 1 eval_l...

Re: SF-NNUE - failed to store learned nn.bin

Thanks for replying.
Nothing written anyway, as far as I can tell.
Repeated the process with the same result.
No idea what I am doing. Just following the readme receipe, so perhaps not a surprising result :)

SF-NNUE - failed to store learned nn.bin

Downloaded the precompiled version of SF-NNUE and followed the receipe for producing a net - a small test run of 1M loops for the training data and 100k for the validation. All seemed to progress fine, but no net was stored in ./eval/final when the process finished. No idea why. The final output fro...

Re: Stockfish NNUE

Tried a few things. None of which worked. File not found or wrong format error. But works in the console. ucinewgame does not seem to cause an attempt to reload the nn.bin file. Thanks for the help, but time for a rest. //---------------------------------------------------------------------- <scid g...

Re: Stockfish NNUE

BTW I now have the same issue others have reported here. Stockfish_nnue works fine in a console, but I cannot persuade it to read the nn.bin file in either scid or python chess - even though the paths are definitely correct. (Not tried other gui, or Windows.). Just get a2a3 etc like others, presumab...

Re: Stockfish NNUE

Thanks.
I should learn to read!
Compiled SF so many times, my fingers type the command automatically.

Re: Stockfish NNUE

Struggling to use this in Linux. Downloaded and compiled Stockfish-NNUE-master from git hub. The download contains nn.bin files, in nnueNets/20MB/eval/nn.bin and nnueNets/30MB/eval/nn.bin Stockfish does not automatically pick these up. If I type (in a console) setoption name EvalFile name <pathname>...

Re: 2080 Ti

Someone posted nps numbers for fp16 and fp32 on the leela discord. Very impressive for the 2080Ti - about a titan v. fp32 not as good, but these are not used by leela - as I understand it. Working from memory, but I recall around 32 knps from the start position for fixed nodes (1M maybe). Vague reco...

Re: Beautiful game, highlights strengths of NN+MCTS

Does not change the beauty of the games, of course, which is not in doubt. But I asked the technical point about MCTS based on the paragraph below form the leela FAQ - which I guess is overseen by the leela devs. I guess the point is that it is not 'classic' MCTS as used by komodo (I believe). "This...
