Re: Honey 13.1 is around the corner ...

This post is genius.
The same thing is true (for instance) for things like the Calculus. Newton and Leibniz did not invent Calculus. They merely discovered it.

Re: Larry Kaufman

Larry has added another success to his career. Dragon Komodo won the First TCEC Swiss Tournament. Congrats to Komodo Team (Mark and Larry) https://wiki.chessdom.org/TCEC_Swiss_1 Those who say 22 games less should not forget that the world chess champion is determined by 12 games. Thanks. Other than...

Re: larger nets for SF?

It appears that my point was missed entirely. If you examine the Elo of the LC0 nets, the larger the net, the larger the Elo. And it isn't close. The big nets CLOBBER the smaller ones. I think that bigger and bigger nets should be constructed until it is no longer true. Similarly with SF. Yes, Alber...

Re: Tough Tactical Test 1

I really appreciate your efforts, Mike.
When I am validating a test set, some Mike variants are always on the prowl. And I would be a flaming idiot if it were not so.

Re: Nalimov errors

Compare some of the checksums you generate with your files with checksums generated from Nalimov files you download.
I guess they will be different.
Probably a different checksum algorithm?

Re: New mate solving test

We are all free to chose:
I may give.
I may take.
Jouni has given a lot.
If he keeps everything new and interesting from now to eternity, his balance sheet is still above the water.

Re: ShashChess 16 on Mac M1

That is tragic, because it makes pure gold on Windows.
After I run a long analysis, the experience.bin file gives shashchess 16 and ENORMOUS advantage at traditional time controls.

Re: larger nets for SF?

Because Fat Fritz has put fear into their hearts. This usurper has beaten us with very, very, very little resources: http://www.cegt.net/40_40%20Rating%20List/40_40%20All%20Versions/rangliste.html Now, they know they were wrong, but they are careful to react because they don't want to look stupid. W...

Re: Experience.bin for Shashchess

I saw a utility to do that once, but it did not work on the files I tried because the format changed. On the other hand, the format of the data is extremely simple so it should be really easy to write a tool to merge them. My personal preference would be to simply keep the deepest data and overwrite...
