Re: Task force TalkChess access

It looks great here! Thanks! But will we be able to keep this mirror forum? Because the old one seems to be beyond repair. Or can we totally replace that one with the mirror forum eventually? Great job!

Re: Rybka Forum Is Officially Closed?

Why not try to save some archive? Just like is done with Talkchess now? Felix Kling is still webmaster at the official Rybka site. The domain of Rybkaforum.pl is still there and you can log in, but nothing else.

Re: Polish users cut off from TalkChess

Is there anyone who would be unwilling to use the Opera browser, with VPN on, to vote? It is ridiculous that we should be forced to use a VPN and be subject to all the measures that are used to throw out bots, no mater if you are logged in or not. This is supposed to be a forum and not guerrilla wa...

New versions of Blue Marlin and Swordfish by Dorsz

Versions 14.1 were on the Planet Rybka that is now sadly defunct and no longer accessible to its former inhabitants. The last survivors fled under the guidance of commander Adama to planet Earth. I will give no link because the Cylons are reading. But you know where to find it. Version 14.2 in AVX2 ...

Re: Has anyone seen or been in contact with Alayan?

If he does not respond to an email from here or a PM, and not to his GitHub email I don't know if there is much you can do unless you have reason to suspect he is in trouble and could use some help.

Another computerchess forum that bites the dust

I just read this: http://rybkaforum.net/cgi-bin/rybkaforum/topic_show.pl?tid=34025 I may miss this even more than Talkchess, certainly than CTF :) And there will be no archive of it I suppose. With the trouble here in Talkchess I don't know if it will last. Soon there will only be the ProDeo forum f...

Re: Polish users cut off from TalkChess

I’m in the UK and am getting this daily: Forbidden You don't have permission to access /forum3/search.php on this server. Al. I wasn't blocked this year, unlike the previous episode. If I don't try to log in can read everything. The forum was just terribly slow a few weeks back, so I just left bcau...

Re: Time to say thanks to ChessUSA for all the good years and move

In Windows 10 you can still use a modified HOSTS file although Microsoft has recently made it harder to change to DNS Client Server, the only setting that you have to change. But it still seems possible to use it. See https://winhelp2002.mvps.org/hosts.htm It's free but he does need to pay hospital ...

3. How to make sure the new board doesn’t suffer from the same attacks/outages as the present one. This is a real issue. If we take talkchess.com to a new host it does not stop the attacks. You always will have hackers around. Everywhere. Part of the vulnerabilty is I think this is still not the fu...

Re: Summer time - how does your PC cooling solution perform?

Yes, If I had to buy something today and not the budget for a Threadripper or something, the Ryzen 7 seems very good value for money, if it was available because the chip shortages seem to delay everything or it is some other bottleneck. Coolblue here in The Netherlands has a nice Ryzen 7 for just 7...
