Re: SFNNUE Fails!! In this Positions!!

Here the question is about a program finding the best move in its PV with highest eval. U r diverting the OP to different way. But the same applies (if a losing unassisted engine doesn't resign lost position then the winning unassisted engine should be able to win any way it wants, including longes...

Re: SFNNUE Fails!! In this Positions!!

Someone playing as he likes and finding the best moves by a program are two different things. That I don't play the shortest mate doesn't mean I couldn't find it, I could have found it and decided to prolong the game (since the player that hasn't resigned did just that - how can it be argued that o...

Re: SFNNUE Fails!! In this Positions!!

There is no such rule. One can play as he wishes. That's exactly what I've been saying  You're the one saying the shortest mate should be played, as if there was such a rule, as if the winning player couldn't play as they wish. Again u r comparing apples with oranges. Someone playing as he l...

Re: SFNNUE Fails!! In this Positions!!

There is a difference between delaying by offering tough resistance, and delaying by silly sacrifices. I agree that in human blitz/bullet chess things are a bit different, because "the clock is a piece" there, and board positions that are game-theoretical losses can be certain wins there because of...

Re: SFNNUE Fails!! In this Positions!!

When you are losing, going for the longest game is often a fatal mistake. I can say my school and college days where i have won lost games only by swindling and delaying (and when i was losing side) and my opponent most of the time broke down in time trouble. I have also won while delaying in won p...

Re: SFNNUE Fails!! In this Positions!!

Going for the fastest mate is not always the best. I remember that from when I still played Chess myself (which must be 40 years ago!). I was often criticized by my team mates for my end-game play: "Why did you play that? Now it will take much longer to win!" When I then sat down at the board again...

Re: SFNNUE Fails!! In this Positions!!

All the people that continue playing the game when they're getting mated are trolls. Irrelevant with respect to the topic posted. You're the one building straw men, this is my actual statement: The one who is replying with a bogus diverted argument is the strawman. I stand corrected what i have pos...

Re: SFNNUE Fails!! In this Positions!!

Irrelevant for the context of finding the BEST move in a position. It's relevant because you haven't shown WHY is a shorter game better than a longer game. And you haven't shown WHY is a shorter game better than a longer one ONLY if you're winning the game, BUT if you're losing the game then making...
