Re: Komodo - is it worth it.

Regarding the sig: "Always Expect the Unexpected" Of course, if you expect it, then it isn't unexpected. It reminds me of the phrase, "Intoleration is a state no tolerant man can tolerate." >Of course, if you expect it, then it isn't unexpected. It means since u can't predict the present u can't pr...

Re: Komodo - is it worth it.

Houdini can do that too, So can Shredder 13. I still find Zappa mexico II good in suggestions although slow. There's positions quiet enough that Komodo 11 outperforms Houdini 6, though you do need to play with its settings (mainly Contempt, from 100 all the way to -100, but changing Reduction and N...

Re: Komodo - is it worth it.

What u think I haven't tried? even in quiet positions there are other engines which can find moves. There are many SF flavors which can do it too. If Stockfish flavors can find the best line that means a best line exists and the position isn't quiet enough. I'm specifically talking about positions ...

Re: Komodo - is it worth it.

Can u show me some situations where Komodo does and SF doesnot ? I am ICCF player and I haven't found any yet. If I posted examples you'd probably take a look at them and say that it's not clear if, or why is Komodo's line better, because this is in quiet positions where there's nothing to do, so t...

I find Komodo very useful in certain situations. I love the fact it is not a Stockfish like engine.

Re: Tests with kiudee settings and SV-384x30-T60-2900net

Those people wouldn't get good at chess even if they were rich and bought the fastest hardware that they could, they just imagine that if they bought it magic would happen, but there's things money can't buy, and being very good at chess is one of them. You're just being irrational. Of course a lot...

Re: The Busted Dutch

Lets play. me black.... Our game ended in a draw. Thanks for the game! I find it very worrying that I haven't been able to find any promising line against the Dutch, I wonder if it refutes 1.d4!? Anyway Om, I've been looking for an opponent to test the Italian... r1bqkbnr/pppp1ppp/2n5/4p3/2...

Re: Plaskett's Chess Puzzle Solved in ~15 minutes

Waiting already 6 minutes in depth 33 now without solution, don't know, how long I'll let it run. Stopped after 20 minutes without solution. At least McCain is rather good in Backwarding the lines after the Queen-sac, which isn't so for all engines, even modern ones, neither. E.g. komodo does bette...
