Re: Is Houdini only TOP3 engine with NUMA support in TCEC?
I remember to read, that neither SF nor Komodo has real NUMA support. According to Houdini document it has +50% boost to nodespeed with dual XEON and NUMA! Where did you get that number? People continue to be confused about 1) support for more than 64 logical processors in Windows, and 2) true NUMA...

Re: Why PVs aren't displayed -- Robert Houdart in TCEC chat
Hopefully at some point we'll get the feature set that TCEC needs in mainline cutechess. Currently they're using this fork (which has some pretty impressive features) which is 534 commits behind mainline and it's almost pointless to try to debug it: https://github.com/jeremybernstein/cutechess If t...

Re: TCEC 10
Yes, it's a minor correction.schack wrote:Are the changes in 6.03 limited to this stalemate issue?
The fact that this problem has remained undetected for over a year suggests that it's not occurring very frequently.

Re: TCEC 10
They announced a Houdini update in chat. If so, I hope it will be a free upgrade for us H6 customers :) It is, and Houdini 6.03 is already available to you - you can use the same download link we sent you by e-mail, it now refers to the updated version. Houdini 6.03 corrects a stalemate bug which w...

Re: My tests
Those who bought the Chessbase release of H6 and are using Ryzen processor should check to see that the installer put the correct versions of the engines into their folders: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\ChessBase\Engines.uci The installer puts the UCI engines into the Houdini 6 folder and, a...

Re: Fall 2017 engine tournament, 11 cpu , 60m+15s
Of course it's strange because his Houdini is weak, he has no full power. Things are simple, Fizbo can't win 1 game from 100 games again Houdini 6. Hello Darko, sometimes weird things happen in a time-limited match that cannot be reproduced by infinite analysis. During the game the hash table is fi...

Re: Houdini 6.02
For Houdini 6 updates I'm sending announcements without download links, so that the mail triggers less spam filters. So far it appears to be effective. Below the full text of the announcement. The Houdini 6.02 update is now available. The update provides support for Polyglot opening books . There is...

Re: Godzilla Endgame Chess Puzzles (1)
With 6-men Syzygy. I can confirm that even with 5-men Syzygy the solution is not easily found. Looking at the variations, I think it's because of this kind of 6-men position: [D]rn2R3/8/8/8/8/1PK5/8/6k1 w - - 0 6 Won for white, but you need a deep analysis to prove that without tablebases. The winni...
