Re: Sting SF 15 64-bit Gauntlet for CCRL 40/40

Thanks Graham and all testers!
It seems to be a good result and I hope the next versions will keep it. :D
It is really very important to know the ELO difference between newest Sting 15 and old Stockfish 2.1.1 .

Re: sting 15

The number, after forward, means the count of skipped moves from PV-line returned earlier by searching. It is your choise how many moves you want to skip. I recommend to stop searching and to skip move(s), if it (they) satisfies you and to start searching from the new place. Next or instead of the ...

Re: sting 15

I see that the auto-playing is an interesting new tool and you like it. One more example. When your longanimity (searching) ends, you can go forward and start searching from the new place or (or next) can check the new position by auto-playing. You can always stop auto-playing and display diagram (...

Re: sting 15

Hi Marek, what is exactly the difference between forward 1 play, forward 14 play, play forward 1, play forward 6 in your examples from above. What means the number 1, 14 , 6 The number, after forward, means the count of skipped moves from PV-line returned earlier by searching. It is your choise how...

Re: sting 15

I added auto-playing only to get the full PV-line (mate or draw), but now I see that it can be used to solve some difficult positions (very long solution) too. It seems to be like Monte-Carlo algorithm : deepening some lines to get exact score very deep in those lines. Absolutely NOT, Monte Carlo i...

Re: sting 15

I added auto-playing only to get the full PV-line (mate or draw), but now I see that it can be used to solve some difficult positions (very long solution) too. There is still only one important question. Is auto-playing used to get solution a dirty trick or not? In my opinion not! Auto-playing does...

Storing the answers to common problems is a dirty trick.
Do you mean tablebases too?
Any way you can solve it yourself is not.

Re: sting 15

I added auto-playing only to get the full PV-line (mate or draw), but now I see that it can be used to solve some difficult positions (very long solution) too. But it still needs some work. There are positions that return ZERO score and they don't like auto-playing way to get the correct solution. E...

Re: sting 15

I added the missing source file benchmark.cpp to: http://www.mediafire.com/file/p6k7e4nr89o4dk0/sting-sf-15.zip/file It is the same link (and executable filies) as earlier. More words about two my new tools for Sting. It is not the same as the dirty trick "forward-backward" when you skip the moves o...
