Re: Super bullet chess: LC0 v0.21.2-rc1 network 3 vs newest Stockfish dev 170519

So far it seems that network 3 is not at all competitive with the best regular Lc0 network (I'm using 42372, 2080 gpu, 2' + 1"). Am I missing something? Is there some reason to think network 3 is actually useful now? Running it on a 2080 vs SF on 1 core is silly, that doesn't tell us anything.

Re: CEGT - rating lists May 19th 2019

The 67 elo gain for Komodo 13.01 mcts over 12.3 mcts on 40/20 after over a thousand games is a very pleasant surprise! Our estimate at blitz was just +30. It seems that a change we made to improve scaling with increased time paid off even better than I hoped!

Re: Komodo 13 released

~snip~ The scores reported by an MCTS engine like Komodo MCTS already reflect the possiblility of the opponent going wrong in plausible ways. Maybe it doesn't do it the same way you would, but at least to a significant degree it does what you want. That's really interesting. If this is possible wit...

Re: Komodo 13 released

Is contempt of 13 ideal for selfplay matches? I remember it should be approximately equivalent to default contempt of 10 in earlier Komodo versions. Adjusting contempt to 13 from 16 give same effect as 10 in earlier versions right? Assuming K13.01 vs K13.01. Also a value for K13.01 vs K12.3 is also...

Re: Komodo 13 released

I have a question. If I purchase chessbase Komodo 12 (or latest chessbase version) then can I get the newest version of the engine? Basically I want the newest Komodo with the latest chessbase GUI. Then just wait a few days until Komodo 13 goes on sale on the chessbase website. They haven't announc...

Yes FRC is the prime candidate. The 50 positions was from the Rybka forum more than 10 years ago: "Stefan Pohl has created a set of 50 shuffle chess positions, which can be used as an opening database for testing. There are NO castlings possible, and the set does NOT contain any Chess960 positions....

Re: Komodo 13.01 MCTS - chess960 results and site updated

This is the chess18 I mentioned in an earlier post. I've already run some engine matches with it and noticed a low draw percentage. What win percentages did you get for White & Black? I guess you probably didn't run enough games for us to draw firm conclusions, though. No, not enough games, but the...

Re: Komodo 13 released

Congratulations for Komodo 13! Do you think the MCTS version can finally give knight odd to an FM with convincing results? It would be great to see him in action in another odd match :D Assuming you are talking about long (45' + 15") games, I rather doubt it. Our record against the last two FMs at ...
