Re: A Crossroad in Computer Chess; Or Desperate Flailing for Relevance

So its odd, or to me it is, that someone can plug Stockfish's Network files into their own engine, and share in the same success. In fact, its not odd, its concerning. One can treat the Network file as (I could be wrong on the math, I don't know the structure) nearly, if not over, a million tiny ev...

I haven't watched the interview yet
I agree with most of your points, but in order to fully understand what this is really about you should watch the video.

Re: TCEC season 13, 2 NN engines will be participating, Leela and Deus X

Shouldn't they make a statement to that effect then? So far all statements say it should go ahead, including this one from Alexander: I know that that DeusX confusion is resolved now, but just to state my opinion for the record: It is clear to me that failing to acknowledge usage of LCZero in the i...

Re: TCEC season 13, 2 NN engines will be participating, Leela and Deus X

free to do what he did wrt Leela Zero Chess in TCEC. TCEC admins have the right to request the source code, but for already mentioned reasons it's irrelevant if he admits there have been no changes. He can "sell" it but any "customer" has the right to demand the source code and then give it away fo...

Re: Call to all Engine Programers to complain to TCEC

So much rabidness. As long as there are only two Leela's (lc0) in TCEC, one original, another a clone, one using reinforcement learning, another supervised learning, I wouldn't be very bothered. Albert's work is still Leela to me. But I don't have 2x1080ti and LTC to see how these two networks beha...

Re: TCEC season 13, 2 NN engines will be participating, Leela and Deus X

In computer chess nobody cares about copyrights, licensing, plagiarism or attribution and most of the audience doesn't care either, they just want the strongest engine and that's it. Trust me on this: you can accept it or move on. You can't change the audience, there's overwhelming evidence from th...

Call to all Engine Programers to complain to TCEC

To all Programmers, Participants of TCEC, TCEC leadership and computer chess afficionados, We can still stop con-artist and self proclaimed ai-guru Albert Silver from getting away with his biggest coup. Please help the lc0 team that has been ambushed and taken advantage of. See this thread http://ta...

Re: TCEC season 13, 2 NN engines will be participating, Leela and Deus X

I am late to the party and never would have expected to fully agree with Milos. The snowflakes from the lc0 team have been conned. Albert Silver pulled a fast-one on them and now tries to lull them into compliance with all his sweet talk. The video that was released is absolutely outrageous and show...

Re: lc0-win-20180512-cuda90-cudnn712-00

Oh, please, you clearly don't know what you are talking about. We are talking about official LCZero client not CUDA branch from Alex that is anyway already using batching on single instance, because self-play games so far are only played by official client. Multiplexing batches with CUDA is easier,...

Re: lc0-win-20180512-cuda90-cudnn712-00

So who is gonna write that concurrent self-play client, you? Do have any idea how much effort is required to do this properly without introducing further bugs? I guess you don't... That's done already - try: lc0-cudnn selfplay --parallelism=8 --backend=multiplexing "--backend-opts=cudnn(threads=2)"...
