Re: Dual RTX 2060 for Leela

What is a node in lc0? This is not a stupid question, btw. Could be every node in the tree. Could be every node in the tree plus every node outside the tree. If it’s a tree node, does it count 1 for every time the search goes through, or just the once when it is visited the first time? Could be the...

Re: Xilinx UltraScale Questions

It would be interesting to know how powerful a TPU one could make from these things, for simulating neural nets. Not enough. I did an analysis at one point after the first gen TPU appeared and you could get maybe half TOPS of the first get TPU (like around 50) with the largest Virtex Ultrascale+ ch...

Re: Xilinx UltraScale Questions

Can these be used for chess engines? How much are they? Will they hook up with a HEDT? Thanks. Sure they can. It doesn't matter how much FPGA's are. It would cost significantly more to make a functional chess engine on one. Coz: 1) Very few ppl (less than a handful) can actually do it 2) It would t...

Re: Leela Chess Zero and what is the "Best" Graphics Card.

This match is a worse match up in terms of NPS (2.5x to 3x NPS advantage) then matching a RTX 2080 ti vs RTX 2060. This NPS advantage netted Lc0 with only a +47 elo advantage. And generally you will see the most advantage with shorter time controls. This is totally expected coz Lc0 scaling is worse...

Re: Trying out the Leela Hybrid engine (NN with AB)

LeelaFish is a modified version of the Lc0 engine that gets help from an outside (auxiliary) engine. Leela uses the AuxEngine's PV to boost the Policy of those moves. https://github.com/killerducky/lc0/wiki/LeelaFish With default settings and SF10 auxiliary on 1 thread, +40 Elo points to pure Lc0 w...

Re: how to run Lc0 on two RTX 2070 ?

Gee, how can you guys be so clueless??? Its okay to be clueless. Forums like ccc can help with experience, thats one of the reasons to be here. Giving advice while being clueless is human :D C.K. Being clueless is ofc fine. Lacking simple comprehension skills OTOH is not something you'd be able to ...

SLI is a parallel processing algorithm for computer graphics. Acronym means Scan-Line Interleave.

So Mr. Smartass, how about the link to a page regarding SLI and machine learning applications?

Re: how to run Lc0 on two RTX 2070 ?

Actually I also have wondered if SLI is a good idea. Of course I know you don't need it for Lc0, but maybe it will consider that the 2 cards are 1 card and thus might be more efficient. Maybe not. If you are running 2 rtx 2070 GPUs. I would only connect them in SLI. Or any cards that are able to ru...

Re: LCZero Chess Engine Performance ........

Thank you so much for this! This really gives a better idea of what kind of hardware to get the most cost effective performance. One question I have is how scaling affects all this. For example how does 2 x RTX 2060 Ti compare to a RTX Titan or RTX 2080Ti. This might also be helpful in choosing the...
