Re: Fritz 16

It does say that "the new multiprocessor engine was developed by star programmer Vas Rajlich ("Rybka") and is up there with the global elite." Sounds like a continuation of Rybka development to me. PK I guess they forget to add "a few years ago ...". I bet for the same Rybka 4.1, maybe slightly twe...

So it doesn't work on Windows XP? ...

Re: Curiosity Engine ??? (For Now It's Number 1 )

I don't know if it happens in the chess sub group of Ponder OFF games … but as nearly no one tests real chess - shit might happen … Ponder ON=real chess Ponder OFF=unreal chess? I don't mind the name. I am open for suggestions to distinguish the to types of the game. Ingo Ponder ON=since engines ha...

Re: Curiosity Engine ??? (For Now It's Number 1 )

I don't think it's Komodo. From the rules page http://www.inwoba.de/rules.html rule number 4 says that new entries play 3500 games against the top 16 engines, and new releases of one of the top 16 engines play 3300 games against the other 15 engines. So Komodo can't play against Komodo, etc. If it'...

Re: Curiosity Engine ??? (For Now It's Number 1 )

I hope I'm not right, but I guess the engine is no other than the new Komodo version. Ingo is using the Shredder Classic GUI, so no Fritz 15 (unless an UCI version will be announced for the first time in Fritz engine history). I expect a strong new Shredder version, but I don't think it will reach t...

Re: Four wild handicaps for FM level player.

A very interesting handicap would be a simultaneous chess match, in which a modified Komodo capable of run several games at once in a given time, could fight against a given number of players. I bet this would be of mass appeal for any chess club. I think this idea would be a great product promotio...
