Re: Chess for Android: version 6.1.1

The play on ICC option worked well. I was wondering how my formula(there was a formula remembered maybe it was from my previous FICS login) would effect things but I saw quickly a 10 0 u ( i was on as a guest) and started a game. Game was solid. Guy was not a push over. I was the one who blundered ...

Re: Chess for Android: version 6.1.1

sorry if this question is stupid „full parsing and evaluation of engine specific UCI option“. What is the advantage of this. What would it change? In the current implementation of Chess for Android (which goes back 10 years :-)), a setup dialog is used that allows setting a few common UCI options t...

Re: Chess for Android: version 6.1.1

Is the full parsing and evaluation of engine specific UCI options already implemented? If not, that would be a nice feature. It is on my (long) to-do list. Implementing features goes in bursts for me. Now I am focused on online play. Then suddenly I feel like improving UCI/XBoard engine support aga...

Re: Chess for Android: version 6.1.1

Version 6.1.5 of Chess for Android is gradually rolling out which now provides the choice between FICS or ICC . I still have tons of ideas for making improvements (and other ideas are welcome too of course), but I wanted to make sure everyone has a choice between the two servers now. This is also a ...

Re: Chess for Android: version 6.1.1

Wow, do you know the Square Off Board? Yes, I have seen this one in action on their website . The self moving part is cool of course (provided it keeps working; I used to have the self-moving Excalibur Mirage , which was a lot of fun except for having to fix the internals rather frequently). I am n...

But - how many boards do you own?
Thanks. Four at the moment (Millennium BLE, Certabo USB, an older DGT RS232, and a DGT Smartboard USB).
A DGT bluetooth with LEDs (I believe that is only the Revelation II) would give me 100% testing coverage :-)

One of the unique features on this app is the ability to run remote engines.
The Droidfish team released a magnificent product, but this statement is not accurate. Chess for Android has supported remote engines since March 2012.....

Re: Playing against a DGT board

It seems the 'head band' is only supported on Windows, unfortunately. That is unfortunate, and also a bit surprising, since Android has a lot of "accessibility" support, and something like the head band would fit right in. But yes, in that case, Chess for Android has little to offer here. Like Mike...

Re: Playing against a DGT board

It says Free Play - analysis, but when i turn it on i dont see any engine analysis. Maybe he just means use your head analysis. When a third party UCI or XBoard engine is imported, "free play" also shows the infinite analysis of that engine at the bottom (useful to play over games and get instant e...
