Re: My chess site ...
Hi Marc, Thanks for posting link to your web-site. Pages about rating estimation are particularly interesting. Thanks Do you have ideas to further improve the accuracy of fast rating estimation? As I am member of an engine "team", I am always trying to find better and faster methods for comparing t...

Re: The Fate of Future WCCC's..??
This event is a _lot_ bigger than just a couple of lazy programming teams. It has 35 years of history behind it that should _not_ be undone. The old WMCCC events were limited hardware. The WCCCs never were. Go back to the WMCCC event if you insist on uniform hardware and let the WCCC mean that the ...

Re: 2009 ACCA World Computer Rapid Chess Championships
I plan on doing just that. Please do! ... and if possible do allow windows boxes to be included. Here at home I have one quad and four duals that I use 100%, 100%, 100%, 30% and 10% for chess (four of them under XP 64 and one under XP 32bits). I am pretty sure there must be quite a few CCC members ...

Re: Who was the most talented chess player ever?
As to Caruana, he is 16, (...) He won the Wijk an Zee B tournament this year with a fantastic last round win against GM Nigel Short (...) Albert If I remember correctly Short blundered horribly in the late phase of the game after having completely dominated the young guy (I could be wrong, because ...

Re: Where can I get databases of comp games
Hi But I'd like to have some databases of some high quality games played by comps too? Any good sources or are they all generally kept private? Games played online between engines in Playchess Engine Room are also interesting. For games played before march 2009, do look at : http://spaghettichess.c...

Re: Cutechess-cli: A command line tool for engine-engine mat
Could be, if the Xboard protocol's limitations (eg. time control options), and the slight computational overhead of Polyglot are not a problem to him. Myabe what he meant was to run the engine using polyglot in cutechess. Is that possible? Sure, but then the engine will play in Xboard mode, and UCI...

Re: Cutechess-cli: A command line tool for engine-engine mat
I would think that really cool would be to have Cute Chess be able to read polyglot.ini files for configuring engines. It would be nice to not need multiple redundant config files for each engine. For now it would probably be easier in Marc's case to just run the engine via polyglot? As I use cutec...
