Re: Other fun mates

Weiss gives Nxc6 as the best move after 1s, but struggles with the mating line. Slowly creeping up to 0 eval before quickly rising after 3 minutes. At this point the depth is so big that each iteration takes quite long and the first mate score (M25) is given at 12 minutes. M23 given a minute later.

Re: TCEC confusion

OK gents, so what's happening in TCEC now? TCEC's communication is historically largely non-existent. And when they do communicate, it's unclear. TCEC, in small print in the upper right corner now tells us it's Super-Final 18. Great! That's some help, relative to prior non-communication. Thanks Mic...

Re: 80th Amateur Series Division 4

Gratz Fabi!

I ended up watching a lot of it and had a blast. A bit painful to see Weiss suffering from poor time management in cyclic, but it's been fixed so Weiss will be back stronger next time! :)

Thanks Graham!

Re: TCEC confusion

The games between the top 8 did not vanish, that league finished. You can find all the games in the archive. They have wiki pages explaining the entire structure of the season (!s18 in chat, or click rules in the dropdown menus at the top of the page, or ask in chat, or on discord...). They also hav...

Re: Other fun mates

Weiss takes 82s and depth 39. Disabling depth reduction for resolving fail highs lowers this to 27s and depth 31. Good for playing strength, but often not for mate solving :( fail highs/lows removed: <_weiss pext(0): info depth 10 seldepth 16 score cp 230 time 6 nodes 27856 nps 3979428 tbhits 0 hash...
