Re: Komodo 14 released.

Oh my gosh. The CCC needs to use that Armageddon mode.

What other engines have it?

Re: What is discord?

You know the thing, where you go into a chat room, and everybody's just there concurring with each other? Discord is for when you want to set up your own place with your own friends, to all have a different opinion. Except that's not how it works at all, and it's really just a chat room with extra e...

Re: Endgame masterpiece from Stockfish-Komodo

This game makes Bh3!! look like regular Bh3.

If I had to guess, 37. Be8 seems like the loss. Kf7 or Kg7 look better (I like Kg7 because it's a dark square, but I can't see any real difference).

Re: LC0 autoconfigure would be nice.

I've just given up and am going for defaults at home. I don't think it would ever be worth the time to figure them all out, and optimize them, rather than just running my analyses longer. For the CCC (where they're trying to squeeze out maximum strength), we have "options" : [ {"name" : "WeightsFile...

Re: PGNs Wanted- Author vs Creation

That's the idea, yes. Except in this case the seals are clubbing themselves.

Also, these don't need to be long- something like 3|0 is basically the same as classical, in this scenario.

We were just talking about replicating NN's play in the Leela Discord.

So, NN.

PGNs Wanted- Author vs Creation

Hi everyone! I collect, and occasionally blog about, games authors play (read: lose) against their own engines. A few months back I hounded a bunch of people about it, and got a few: https://www.chess.com/blog/the_real_greco/man-vs-machine-parts-i-ii I figured I'd cast a wider net by posting here (a...

Re: Suggestion to CCRL

This is only tangentially related, but often I refer people to the CCRL (or any other rating list) before they can submit an engine to the CCC. Is there an easy way to apply for inclusion? I seriously doubt anyone's going to follow through (or that anything submitted that way will be particularly un...

Re: Can Leela CPU train from a PGN file instead of selfplay?

As has been pointed out, one could START with a fully trained net, then feed it a lot of PGNs at the end. The caveat being, you'd still need a huge number of games to change the net significantly. Or you'd have to crank up the learning rate so high you risk destroying all the initial knowledge. Or u...
