Re: droidfish bug?

Yes, it's working for me since years.
I set 2048MB hash now to check and it got filled 98% in 2 minutes 16 seconds with ~5100kNps speed. 512MB fills in 30s.
Clear DroidFish app from recents, open it fresh and try again.

Re: droidfish bug?

This is for a safety, as apparently some people were setting too big hash which (also apparently) sometimes were leading to problems like hanging, restarting the phone etc.
To get rid of this limitation just create an empty file named .unsafehash (with a dot) in DroidFish/uci folder.
That's it!

Re: LC0 For Android!!! History Made!!

Thanks. How many NPS you get with Lc0 after 10s from starting position? I get around 400 on 4 cores. Were the regular emgines on one core or more? It seems your FIDE rating will be in 2800 ballpark. I have at 10s/move with a tweaked power consumption (strong 4 cores used almost always) Lc0 beating ...

Re: benchmark new smartphones:

Hi, Xiaomi Mi 6 is still not on the list :?. This is a fresh benchmark, this time on Android Pie (AEX ROM 6.5): 3683 kNps after 1 minute. Thanks

Re: ChessTricks

Thanks, but the online tools only seem to allow image file conversion from one format to another, such as png to webp, but as far as I can see there is no simple and readily available tool for conversion to ttf (a piece font format). That would allow these fonts to be used with a GUI like Arena. Ju...

Re: benchmark new smartphones:

I'm also not fully happy with my SD835 phone Xiaomi Mi 6 as for chess, my test 2 pages ago shows -40% kNps after 15 minutes. Simple reason - mobiles are not made for constant max load, that would kill their tiny batteries too fast. But there should be a choice - a simple switch turning off aggressiv...

Re: benchmark new smartphones:

So I went after this idea and retested my Xiaomi Mi 6 (glass back). This time I took off my plastic back cover and tested it after cooling 1 hour in a room temperature. The first 2 minutes gave much better results than previous test, although later massive throttling took place... Start to ~1...
