Re: Should FIDE Create a No Castling Championship ?

I wonder if new tools for opening preparation could not help to lower the draw rates in classical chess? Like the true percentile output in Fat Fritz that displays the expected wins, draws and losses, for a variation. Also better opening training software, like the (hopefully) upcoming Chess Positio...

Re: Popular opening books

It seems Chessgui has the tool. Image Try to find a big pgn file as your Pgn Input File. Every pos in epd file will be searched in the input pgn file. If it is there it will save the moves in sequence in pgn format. If not found it will still save in pgn format but using the FEN Tag as was used in ...

despite some slight transposition bugs as result of sometimes strange moves (eg Ng1f3 e5 Nf3g1 ?) jef Are there other known transposition bugs when using Bookbuilder? Is there some easy way to find games with these transposition bugs, after converting the book to pgn with bb36c. I open the pgn in C...

Re: New Cerebellum Library

It is easy to convert bin to pgn I know with polyglot-tolerant there is a option to convert to pgn. It creates 3 pgn files: cerebellum.pgn, cerebellum-white, and cerebellum-black. The problem is that I work with merged books. And not all lines that are shown in the bin book are in the pgn file afte...

Re: New Cerebellum Library

I tried it with some book and come to the conclusion that not all lines are there. Scid vs PC export 3500 moves from a bin book I used with my own game. Than it quits and I don't get a warning. So I need an other way to convert a bin book to pgn. I think I will divide the bin book to small parts. So...

Re: New Cerebellum Library

I would be very interested in hiring a chess programmer to rip the book into a format that could be used with something like Chess Position Trainer. Paying work. Please spread the word and PM me if interested. -Carl It is possible in Scid vs PC to export a bin book to a big merged pgn game. http://...

Re: Banksia GUI released

Can you set both "min game length" and "repeat at least" boxes to zero (in Game condition) then re-create books? That allows BSG to take all games and save to books. If I set the"min game length" box to zero, the Process button is grayed out. Zo I set the "min game length" box to 1 and "repeat at l...

Re: Banksia GUI released

If you can see games in the database, the database is good and ready for creating books. Go menu -> Tools -> Create Opening to open below dialog. Fill in database path and path of your new book, select book type and hit Process then wait a bit (ignore all other options). Thanks for the explanation....

Re: Banksia GUI released

Thanks for the new chess GUI. It looks great! I tried the book making functions, but without succes. I choose a pgn file with my games played on internet and choose for polyglot output. I hit process but noting happens? Maybe I do something wrong? How can I reset the default settings for bookmaking?...
