A record number of participants, but otherwise a quite troublesome tourney. Several participants suffered disconnects, and had to be forfeited for one or two games. Other engines crashed, or inexpliquably blundered.

Winter had a very rough tournament. That being said this gave me an idea that might improve it a lot =)

Also its first game might have set a record, Winter just kept offering Joker pawns which it gladly accepted. This was certainly dubious by Winter, but somehow it managed to win anyways.

Winter had a very rough tournament. That being said this gave me an idea that might improve it a lot =)

Also its first game might have set a record, Winter just kept offering Joker pawns which it gladly accepted. This was certainly dubious by Winter, but somehow it managed to win anyways.

Holy cow! Winter sacrificed 6 pawns for an attack!!! That has to be some sort of record indeed.

You don't have to rejoin, disconnecting does not automatically remove you from a tourney. When you disconnected during a game, that game is adjourned, and you can resume it through the command 'match OPPONENTNAME'. After a longer disconnect you should only do this after verifying that the game wasn't already forfeited and a next round has already started. If you missed the automatic start of a round, you have to be more careful, and fully specify the game (i.e. TC and color in addition to the opponent). First you do 'mam games 1' to check what game you should have been playing. Then you start that game by 'match OPPONENTNAME 5 1 r COLOR', where COLOR is w or b depending on the color you should have.

This is one of the things that went wrong with Scorpio. It suffered a disconnect, and was not back before all other games of the round finished. So I forfeited it by hand, in order for the tourney to go on. The opponent from the adjourned game (rpiFruit) started the new round, but finished the game before Scorpio was back. And then Scorpio resumed the (already forfeited) adjourned game against rpiFruit, instead of the game it should have been playing in the new round. I only discovered this when the other games of the new round were finished. As we were already running quite late due to earlier problems, there was no opportunity to have Scorpio play the game it should have played for the next round, and I had to forfeit it again.

It is very difficult to improve the evaluation of Fruit.
I tune everything with hand ... and after many games (and times) i lose small (or big ) elo.

My attempt of a pgn collection is omitted now though, because
1. it was very cumbersome
2. some participants did not like it

Note that the 'eternal stats' are not updated yet, because the
'new' McMahon system tables need first some data recalculation
to not corrupt the previous stats.
(this is not difficult of course)
