Yeah, I gave up on position 4, looks like I'll be rank 7 from week 4 onwards. If it happened in a real game, I'd have resigned in a won position :shock:

Week-4 is up.

Made it harder, I hope, to shake the top of the tree.

Please read the instructions in the comment section of each position carefully!

For position 1-3 contribute the mate in x number.

For position 4, the move to draw scores 1 point, the first 6 moves of the mainline scores 2 points. So, some of you can score a +100% score :wink:

For one of them, I think that the standard solution is probably wrong.
I am checking that right now.
The other 3 were easy

Four entries so far and 3 got 2 points providing the correct mainline for position-4. I made that visible by adding an extra column called Bonus.

Nobody so far got position-2 right, contributed numbers fluctuate with an interval of 18! :lol: We will see next week.

For one of the problems, the stated mate distance from YACPDB is definitely wrong.

Correct, it was not mate in x but mate in y where y=x-(sqrt(49)-log(10000))
