I tried the first one without contempt in a quick game(no time for more now).

Komodo does not seem to resist a lot:

Since Komodo was only averaging 16 plies for the first five moves, I'm guessing it was playing game in one minute? In our match with Izoria Komodo was getting around 32 plies on the first few moves. The difference between 32 plies and 16 plies is something like the difference between Magnus Carlsen and a 1500 player. Even if you are busy, surely you can give Komodo 3 min plus 1 sec increment at least.

Gm Izoria kept his advantage the whole game and won rather easily. It seems that the first move is pretty big in these handicap games.

lkaufman wrote:We have scheduled our next match on chess.com for Jan.15 and 16. GM Zviad Izoria will take on Komodo at two pawn handicaps, this time with one of them always the "g" pawn, which should be pretty tough for Komodo. Izoria is a pretty strong GM, FIDE 2604, USCF 2713, born 1984, currently U.S. Number 12. He was in the World top 50, twice qualified for the World cup, twice won the European Junior Championship, and won a huge money Open above 50 GMs a decade ago. The handicaps will be b2g2, c2g2, b7g7, and c7g7. We have no experience with giving the g pawn (except for two games with the f pawn as well) so little to go by, but common sense tells us that the f and g pawns are the two most valuable in the initial position. Time limit will be the usual 45 min plus 15 sec increment. As always, there will be financial incentives for draws and (especially) wins. Hardware will be my new 16 core I-9.
Izoria was selected on the basis of a recommendation by GM Alex Lenderman, who thought that Izoria would be especially strong at this sort of match. So far no GM has won a single game at any two pawn handicap except for c2 + f2, though there have been plenty of draws. In fact no GM or IM has won a game at ANY handicap other than that one, with the sole exception of a win by GM Simon Williams at f7 and three moves handicap! But I'll be very surprised if that is still true after this match.
Congrats to Komodo and to 5 of us (minority) who predicted 3 out of 4. I wasnt expecting a decisive game on all 4, only thought 2 would be draw and 2 wins by Komodo with a 3 out of 4 score. But anyway 3 points is still correct.

Despite the score in favor of Komodo, I m thinking it might be the right handicap to play against a GM and see a 50% winrate or slighty more for Komodo.

What would be the ELO of Komodo against human in this case ? Let's assume Komodo strenght is 2650 at these handicap.

I agree with you. With White at these handicaps Komodo seems a clear favorite, but with Black quite the opposite. Having the first move is important when down material so at least you can have a tiny initiative or space edge to make it more difficult for the human to exploit his material.

As for the Elo of Komodo, I mentioned in an earlier post that I got an Elo value of 872 on average for these four handicaps in Komodo vs Komodo bullet play. If you accept that, then 2650 plus 872 is 3522. Probably this 872 figure is a bit too high; more likely the Elo for this version of Komodo running on mly 16 core I-9 at 4.1 GHz is really in the 3400s.

I do want to try Exchange and pawn (the one in front of the missing rook) soon vs. GM. Other suggestions are welcome.

Note that GM's got their elo at slower time control than 45+15
I do not believe that Komodo is going to get 2650 with these handicaps if it is allowed to play in tournament for fide rating that are at least 90+30 and sometimes even slower time control.

I'm sure you are correct. If chess.com makes it possible for me to have Komodo play automatically rather than by manual move input, we may switch to giving GMs 90' + 30" and Komodo getting maybe 15' + 5" or so in addition to somewhat smaller material handicaps.
Komodo rules!
