TCEC rabid tournament

Post by Jouni »

15' + 10" and 43 cores is same as 150' + 100" for 4 core home PC! So definitely VLTC or tournament level. Nice to see games with faster tempo. BTW season 9. rapid (25' + 10") ended 1. Houdini 2. Komodo and 3. SF. Current Komodo seems to be relatively weaker?

No, because the speed of the set of depths grows not linearly with respect to the number of cores. According to my calculations, the advantage is 2-4 times, depending on the 4-core processor.

Is the version of Komodo that is playing now fixed?

They went back to the prior version.
Deasil is the right way to go.

I don't know if "fixed" would be the best way to describe it. After 17 games, it's 6 wins behind SF and 5 behind Houdini, tied with Fire.

Actually game was won with 8. Ne5 +1,53 and open position - rest unnecessary! Note Na1 was never captured. I am skeptical if any contempt can improve SF.

The big surprise of this stage is the stellar performance of Laser. Rated at the bottom at 2510, it is pulling upset draws and victories from the entire field, currently scoring 12.0/20.
