Slow Komodo 1970 in TCEC Superfinal ?

Post by ernest »

People watching closely the TCEC tournament have certainly noticed that the Komodo engine, updated to "Komodo 1970" for the current Superfinal against Houdini, seems to be running around 20% slower than the previous versions of Komodo in Stage 2 and 1, approximately 40 Mnodes/s in (early) middlegame compared to 50 Mnodes/s previously.

If this is confirmed, it means that the update was not a minor one (or bug ?...)

Mark Lefler, asked in the TCEC chat, is not convinced the effect is real.

What do you think ?

Stage 2 yes !

(I should not have mentioned Stage 1, my mistake, only 22 threads)
