Karjakin's anti-computer exercise

Post by Maxwell86 »

Sergey Karjakin posted an interesting exercise / study on Twitter: https://twitter.com/SergeyKaryakin/stat ... 16/photo/1

Karjakin comments: "White to play and win! Anti-computer position!"

Indeed, on my pc, Stockfish keeps showing the same score...

The idea to solve it, I think, is to bring the knight to h4, threatening to enter black's position via f5, winning all the pawns. Therefore, black has to take the knight with gxh4, resulting in a winning pawn ending for white.

A winning line is, for instance, 1.Nc1 Ke6 2.Ne2 Kd6 3.Ng1 Ke6 4.Nh3 Kf6 5.Nf2 Ke6 6.Nd1 Kd6 7.Ka2 Kc6 8.Nb2 Kd6 9.Na4 Kc6 10.Kb2 Kd6 11.Nb6 Ke6 12.Nd5 Kf7 13.Nc7 Ke7 14.Nb5 Ke6 15.Na3! (maybe one of the reasons why it's so hard for Stockfish to find the solution?) Kd6 16.Nc2 Ke6 17.Ne1 Kd6 18.Ng2 Ke6 19.Kc2 Kf6 20.Kd2 Ke6 21.Ke2 Kf6 22.Kf2 Kg7 23.Kg1 Kf7 24.Kh2 Kg7 25.Kh3 Kf7 26.Nh4 gxh4 27.Kxh4 Kf6 28.g5+ hxg5 29.Kg4

When (at which depth or time) does Stockfish finds a solution on your pc?
Can other engines solve it more quickly?
Thanks in advance!

Slightly altered, but the same problem
Taking ideas is not a vice, it is a virtue. We have another word for this. It is called learning.
But sharing ideas is an even greater virtue. We have another word for this. It is called teaching.

I wasn't aware that the same problem was already posted here before.
Thanks!
