Back from the edge of death, again!

Post by Michael Sherwin »

Some months ago I was working on a promising new version of RomiChess. Then I started not feeling so good and confused my source code. I was not able to recover my promising changes and got more ill trying so I had to stop working on Romi and go into recuperation mode. I turned 60 on 7/27 and quite unexpectedly started feeling better. Today I started working on RomiChess again. I can't say for sure that I am back. But I'll give it the best I got!

Right away I saw a couple of bugs in my code and a tweak that I never tried before and the result was a sacrifice that Romi never made before and Romi won!

Hi Rodolfo, Good to see you too! Romi says that when she gets her new clothes she wants to see how she does with your Manhattan book. :D

My Manhattan experiment isnt't worth of your Romi. I'd need to spend much more time for a book which gives Romi better positions to play. As you remember, that was a complete failure. :)

confusing one's source code is not such a big problem.

the really big problem is when one rightfully claims freedom and basic rights, and he gets killed instead.

that is what should be fixed.

I do not want to sound insensitive but as unjust as the word is what does that have to do with me coming out with a new version of Romichess. And the confusing of my sources was not the problem nearly as much as how ill I was and unable to program or even think. If you have something to say about world conditions it probably should not be here. If you are talking about a chess programmer that got killed then make a new topic. Why are you burdening an old sick man?
