Forced Mate #93 -position 6371 ChestUCI.epd

Post by MikeGL »

Your analysis are all being consistent with Mate in #106 for this puzzle since a couple of your previous posts. Maybe time to trust statistics and it is really #106. Quite difficult to find the correct defences for black. I will just save this on my backup disk as Mate in #106.

Anyway, here's Mate in #93 from ChestUCI.epd position: 6371

This Mate in #93 looks straightforward and no hair-pulling and keyboard smashing required for this puzzle.

Thanks a lot for that line which makes it perfect #50 Peter.

Can do only #60, needs 3 move reduction to make it #57.
But maybe the label of puzzle from source is not correct.

Here

you have the author's solution, at least it seems to be.
Pity this line is #58 too, there are 4 moves still missing at move 54 given.

Pasted your, the author's (?) and SF's shortes solution in a .pgn:

Thanks for the #57 Peter.
Too bad I didn't check yacpdb site for solution first.
Learned my lesson, will check if solution is already on that site.

solution is easy once you found out that a3 square is the only dark sqaure which is
safe for triangulation to lose or gain a tempo. All other dark squares are not possible because the Bc1 would deliver check and untangle blacks pieces and black would win.
