The last 3 tourneys Bart used one of my computers as well and that strange phenomena didn't appear, so I guess the problem is solved or disappeared by itself.
It was fixed. It had to dowith the ICS 'follow' command which automatically started observing all games of selected players (and Bart had selected you), and WinBoard not being able to observe and play a game in zippy mode at the same time (which should be fixed now by the background-observe mode).

BTW, I have to attend a funeral in the south-east of the country today. I plan to be back at least an hour before the tourney, but with the possibility of bad weather and the ensuing consequences for traffic you never know. So please don't leave immediately when I am not there at 9:00pm sharp.

I've logged RookieMonster in before heading out to play in a human tournament. If it's still online when you start the blitz, could you please add it?

Thanks!

With 44 participants this wast the largest tourney so far; the previous record was at 30. Fortunately the fact that due to server trouble we had to skipa month did not drive anyone away. Part of the influx of new participants is due to a increas in Folkert's Raspberry-Pi collection, but even discounting that we had more participants than ever!

McBrain is Stockfish with the Cerebellum book code on a turbo-charged Mac. Its win was tainted a little by a problem with timeseal on the Mac, which insisted that time did not elapse on the machine where it was running, so that in the first few games it had an unfair time advantage. (After this was discovered it continued playing without timeseal.)

NightmareA unfortunately was unstable, and kept crashing, so that it had to be withdrawn.

Skiull missed a draw against micro-Max in the final round, by allowing itself to be checkmated in the 50th reversible move of KRKN.

The results of the BYE player should start in the column for round 4.

I think the previous record was 33, from October 2016.

A very interesting game, as one does see not the French defense much in computer play. MCBrain handled it well, in book until 12.Nf4 with a minus -0.16 score.

This was the game where it was determined that it was determined a faulty timeseal app that was providing 6 or 7 seconds per move being added, it was not apparent right away , but as the games wore on, it was strange seeing McB with over 5 minutes left in the game and the opponent under one minute, it was then I noticed that in the 5 1 games, after every move McB was getting 5 or 6 extra seconds added - I then disconnected and reconnected without time seal. In patching the two game files together, I have lost earlier computer output

This game went very deep in book, with 26. ... Nxe1 the first move out of book for McB with a +.59 score , the very next move 27. ...Qxd1 allows the very dangerous looking 28.Qxg7+, but McB correctly saw that it would not a serious threat, the coup de grace was taking the knight with 35. ...Rxe3 as the Rook was not touchable as the follow-up of Qe2 would be devastating for black

out of book with 8.Bd3 near zero score , very much a French like opening, white's position did not show life until 18.h5, notice how white does not take the rook with 28. Nxg6 , but plays g5 , that leads to the exchange of rooks and game superiority with the knight capturing the pawn with 30.Nxe6

the toughest game McB played, with total moves played going over 100 ...looked drawish for a very long time, both sides appeared top be in and out of book, with MCB finally leaving the book for good with 24. ... f6. the Critical move seems be 42. Rab6 +1.03 as the on 41st move McB was still showing a draw score. I was watching nemorino's output and it had 43. ... Bxc4 in its output on it's move 43. Rb2, so it does appear 41. Bg2 was an error as that removed one extra defender from c4, after that it was a classic Stockfish like grind it out win, with 48...Rxb3 a classic Stockfish move as the Q and the B against two Rs and a B was too much to ask for white.

again this game seemed drawish coming out the opening, it appears 25. ...ba4 was the move that black would like back as that led to white domination on the Q-side later in the game and the black pawns were a few moves short to do damage on the K-side
