On-line engine blitz tourney January

Post by hgm »

Now that the problems with the ICS, (which prevented completion of the November tourney and caused teh December tourney to be cancelled), seem to have been solved, I am happy to announce we are 'back in business':

The monthly on-line engine blitz tourney for January will take place on:

Saturday January 14, 3pm Boston time (21:00 Amsterdam time)

(This assumes everyone is now off daylight-saving time.) To connect:

winboard -zp -ics -icshost winboard.nl -icshelper timeseal -fcp ENGINE.exe -fd ENGINEFOLDER -autoKibitz

(for UCI engines, add -fUCI)

Crossing fingers, praying, and general good will :) If there are any engines you'd like to see play I have some hardware I can toss in the mix.

Otherwise I look forward to watching as a spectator.
I still have my Raspberry Pi, w/ full screen xboard so I can chill on the couch, eat popcorn and watch lol.

Well, all engines are welcome, and the more the merrier. I consider it one of the major successes of this tournament that it attracts engines of a very wide range of strengths, and not just a few top engines. This makes it challenging for every participant.

Last tournament, we realized that Abbess wasn't kibitzing it's thinking. It is sending the PV to Winboard -- is there a flag I can enable to forward that, or do I need to implement a new command?

The -autoKibitz option is supposed to do that. It sends the last line of Thinking Output received from the engine before the engine moved to the ICS.

Does Embla have a regular account already? I remember in the past there was only one for POS but not for Embla so you could not login with Embla.
