WEBMATCH

Post by Rebel »

WEBMATCH is a web utility to broadcast computer engine-engine matches live on the internet. With WEBMATCH you can broadcast up to 4 comp-comp matches at same time live on the internet. Owners with a webspace plus a text editor and a minimum of HTML knowledge can setup such live matches easily.

DEMO - [ http://rebel13.nl/pgn4web/live1.html ]

I am looking for a couple of people who want to test it first before I throw it on the internet.

Added the source code live.c, robin.c and setup.c to improve or to port the system to other interfaces than Arena.

Thank you for this utility!

I have started a match Komodo 10 - Stockfish 160528
The time control is 30 minutes + 15 seconds

http://www.fastgm.de/pgn4web/live1.html

More information under the button Tournament Info
It runs so far without any problems.

As this is about matches should it not be in the tournaments and matches section ;-)

Seriously though it looks very good!

With a little effort it's possible to use it in OTB tournaments provided one of the engines can store the game in PGN every move and then upload the PGN with the standard Windows FTP. Takes 0.1 secs, hardly any time loss.

I tried it on Windows 7 with Chrome using free account in x10hosting.com and it works fine.

Sample:

I will upload my pgn4web folder and scripts later once this is done.

Feedback:
1. The live.exe is still running even though the tournament was already done,
i.e arena quited and robin 100 1, where 100 was already satisfied. But live.exe no longer uploaded a file which is good.

2. The robin.exe was still running even though the tournament was already done. It also still uploading files.
Also there seems to be an unused column "ELO" in ordo6.txt

Code: Select all

   # PLAYER : RATING POINTS PLAYED (%) ELO
   1 Hakkapeliitta 3.0 : 2800.1 12.0 20 60
   2 Quazar 0.4 : 2739.7 10.5 20 53
   3 Matulis 0.1.1 : 2727.1 51.0 100 51
   4 Discocheck 5.2.1 : 2692.1 9.0 20 45
   5 Cheng 4.39 : 2691.8 9.0 20 45
   6 Matulis 0.1.0 : 2676.0 8.5 20 43

White advantage = 57.55
Draw rate (equal opponents) = 14.36 %

Games played 100, games to go 0

Tournament finished

Notes:
I am using bootstrap and seemed to have an issue with pgn4web. Highlighted squares (after a move) by solid line around the squares were not properly drawn. So I ended up using background for whole squares and solid line around highlighted squares.
